I guess you don't get the POA news and read the minutes of the meetings. It don't effect you all south of the mason Dixon line yet due to the developer still in charge and owns amenities what I understand? Correct me it I'm wrong? Basically Ms. Tutt pushing developers property and I think she enlisted MR. ROHAN ( the developer's main man?) which it seems most POA members aren't that interested in that area in district 3 and 4) for the final push. Even though the 8 acres mol around 100k vs 3 mil for 40 acres. Which would be good for district 1 and 2, but does nothing for 3 and 4 IMO. Rio grande NE of 466. IMO that area has ample ammenties or less lacking than far north. North 466 above Glenview (el Camino Reno). with the expansion of District 4 are and was lacking Amenities IMO and others the live in the far north. |

Let's see..... In a community of over 100,000 people, a new proposal is announced and there are a multitude of opinions on both sides of the issue.
And there are even some opinions that (gasp) the Developer is proposing something solely so that the Developer can make a profit. --------------------------------------- I have visited several retirement communities in Florida and California, and have never seen one that approaches the value (for cost to the resident) of The Villages. I'm sure the Developer faced similar resistance to other proposals that were put forward in the past. To me, one of their big missteps was to build the Brownwood Town Square so far south. It should have been more centrally located between 466A and 44, and centrally between Buena Vista and Morse. But, there are probably 50,000 contrary opinions about this.

I think the developers know more about how to fund and build a facility like this than everyone here combined.
If some here know so much, why haven't they done it already....starting with mortgaging everything you own, including retirement funds. ![]() |

I believe the "indoor pool" request has been on the annual survey for several years. Now the developer has decided an indoor pool would be beneficial for some residents. Some people have requested a shaded/indoor pool as they have skin cancer or swimming, is their major form of exercise. There has been a variety of opinions, pro and con. I would tend to think, more than one indoor pool may have to be built as the demand may be overwhelming. As usual, something gets panned, before it even opens it's doors. You can't make everyone happy, seems to apply.
I shutter at the thought if the Morse family ever relinquishes control of the paradise they built. Having it run by the residents who only want to pay a pro rated fee for the amenities they only use, is folly. For what is available, it's truly amazing and inexpensive. IMHO I don't use all of the amenities but I don't begrudge anyone who does. I am not a pool person so I don't have a dog in this fight. I take comfort in the Morse family saying their grandchildren will take over the running of TV, so my concern level is zero. I lived in a condo in CT before moving to TV and the condo board did a lousy job. TV system seems to run like clockwork. IMHO If the inmates ever start running the asylum, I may have to rethink my viewpoint! ![]()

Just kind of chuckling to myself, looking at 15 pages talking about something we don't even have, don't know when we will have it or where it will be or how using it will work or how it will work out payment wise.
Enjoying reading it. ![]()
