Read the Fox 35 article again

Countless labs have reported a 100 percent positivity rate, which means every single person tested was positive

FOX 35 INVESTIGATES: Florida Department of Health says some labs have not reported negative COVID-19 results

333 labs in Florida reported 100% positive tests, zero negatives, this info is on the State's website. This is a fact. The state has acknowledged the problem.

If you take the number of cases, as stated in the letter, and divide by the number of people in each county you get the following percent of people infected in each county:

Sumter= .41% infected, which means 99.59% are not
Marion= .32% infected, which means 99.68% are not
Lake= .59% infected, which means 99.41% are not

Think about that. The percent of people infected in the state of Florida calculates out to 1.02%, which means 98.98% of us are not.

The Orlando news just posted a story of a man who pulled a gun on someone who confronted him on a mask. Sometimes it is better just to mind your own business.

Don't count on the politicians because they do not know what they are doing. Pathetic.

Did you even take a stat class anytime in your lifetime. You do not know how many are infected because that letter only talks about people who are in the hospital. You have no number of how many in the county have been tested and how many are positive. You cannot make a critical thinking argument that includes the population when you do not have any idea how many actually have the virus. It is the number of tests and the number of positive. That is the only information you have. Do not assume that if people are not tested they are negative, that is just plain stupid.

Does that mean that 333 labs in Florida only reported their positive tests and NOT their negative tests? I am a retired nursery school teacher and I heard the news too and read it from Politico, from Times Sentinel and from Fox 35. Pretty much identical articles.. I wonder who we should trust with valid information on this subject? The word "countless" sort of threw me off and I dismissed it as interpretation rather than all positive and no negative. That to me was not possible.

Deduct those two from the total in Sumter county and we are looking very good.
And let the spin to minimize begin...

You might want to use Reply With Quote just below the post your are responding to so it is clear who you are responding to. A lot of posts can get in while you are replying, and if a quote isn’t included the reply can appear to be to the original poster who started the thread.

Thanks GoodLife. Only having 7 ICU beds available in Sumpter County is not reassuring!

Oh yes they do. Doing nothing and acting like you're doing something is doing something even though it's nothing.

How many times do I need to say that 75-85% occupancy in ICU wards is normal when there is no pandemic going on. Not all those ICU beds are occupied by covid patients.

Sumter hospitals currently have 112 regular beds available. Not all covid patients need an ICU room, only the most serious cases.

Quote from Chief Medical Officer Villages Health email:

As of this morning, there are 15 patients in the UF The Villages Hospital and 36 in UF Leesburg Hospital.16 of these patients are in intensive care.
