Where or when did they say "fraud"? The news report I saw said only that "FOX 35 News noticed errors in the state's report on positivity rates" & never even implied fraud. Could that be your interpretation?
The same report also said this, "The growing caseload is partly driven by increased testing, but a larger percentage of tests are coming back positive, jumping from 6 percent a month ago to more than 18 percent."

I don't know, maybe I'm just dumb. Do I truly care, at this point, how many people have been tested - not really. If 30 million have been tested (roughly 10% of our pop) and 15 million tested positive what exactly would that tell me to do that I'm not already doing? I wear a mask - why? Because it "MAY" help. There's arguments both ways on that so who do you believe? Whomever you want. Social distancing and washing seem logical so I'll go with that. There's only 2 stats that interest me. One, what demographic succumbs more often to this virus. Older folks with underlying conditions. Well that's me so I take note. The other one would be if we ever get to 80% of the population testing positive then we'd be into the herd immunity ratio. I do peruse the stats but I'm a true believer in "believe none of what you hear and half of what you see". Especially in this day and age.

When you have 333 labs report only positive test results, how accurate do you think the state reports on positivity percentages are? Answer: Not very

Cases of COVID-19 are increasing in Florida and locally. Today, there are 549 cases in Sumter County, with 162 occurring in the last week. In Lake County, there are 2,158 cases with 674 occurring in the last week. In Marion County, there are 1,156 cases with 379 occurring in the last week. As of this morning, there are 15 patients in the UF The Villages Hospital and 36 in UF Leesburg Hospital.16 of these patients are in intensive care.

The upward trend is accelerating and the number of known cases among 15- to 35-year-olds is surpassing those of adults aged 55 and older. While younger individuals are typically more able to tolerate and survive the infection, older individuals are at higher risk for more serious outcomes related to this infection.
Finally, a truth teller has emerged from the rattle of other rabble. Way to go!

Yes there are a lot of cases in Florida. Fifteen thousand in one day this past Sunday, yet the number of deaths that are attributed to the virus on Sunday in Florida, around 45 per the Johns Hopkins site. We don’t hear about the number of deaths anymore. And the virus is making a comeback in other parts of the world where strict measures were in place way before the US implemented measures..

Default Numbers are nice to know, but actions to take are far more important

Still can't figure out why everyone doesn't simply wear a mask when around others and focus on social distancing. THAT is the solution...and it's not political or racial....just smart

Blame the media. Fake news. The world is flat. Science is EVIL! Yeah right. Gov. Cuomo was a politician to be proud of. What America used to expect, a transparent truth teller. For example-- Washington told the CDC to give statistics to the politicals-who will hide and massage them. Cuomo did NOT do that, he did the opposite.

I love the name “KillerCuomo” he did help kill Covid for NY, although I don’t ever go to NY, I watched his efforts every day. May someone do the same for Florida!

For all that have waited for positive news, that is all you will get from now on.

I would suggest caution and politeness and respect and forbearance even. I would NOT do that. Confrontation makes everything black and white. It HARDENS opinions. Just be a role model and wear yours. The long term results will be the same. The US will eventually learn the lessons that Japan and S. Korea now know. The US is a world-class slow learner due to an inflated sense of self-worth and mistaken confidence. People are starting to get the hint even here in the Villiages. Only survival and self preservation is at stake and will WIN out eventually.

Two people that we have known for more than fifty years died earlier this month in Cincinnati. They were securely and happily and delightfully married to each other and their children were friends of our children and I taught two of their granddaughters in nursery school. These very real people died within days of each other of Covid-19. We had enjoyed pictures of them earlier in the year enjoying family get togethers and in good health for their age. Two of our friends here in The Villages were sickened with Covid-19 after eating with a group of ten at Orange Blossom Gardens on St. Patrick's day. Six of the group became sick with the virus. Our friends, one was hospitalized in Ocala in intensive care for ten days and the other was very sick at home and had to be taken by ambulance to emergency room for dehydration. It isn't a seasonal virus. It is a nasty bug that is particularly dangerous to people over 65.

I am aggravated that the numbers that we are given on cases are suspect. I am mad that we cannot trust our own government for the truth and I am very aware that if we close down business we all will suffer enormously and that too will dangerously affect us all. Life runs on money.

All we can do is stay away from groups and wear a mask and wash our hands and try not to harm people who say it is all a hoax. It is a political football to be sure in my opinion.

And I just read back on the past posts of this poster and I usually agree with him. I just get so tired of people saying this isn't a dangerous situation for us.
Indoor dining with 10 people is now almost a death sentence for themselves and then THEY are spreaders. Not good!

As for the response elsewhere that ONE lab had misreported numbers...read the info...it was a lot more than one ...
Fiesty and frosty. Lots of adrenaline involved.

A few reasons:

1. Not all adults are smart.
2. Not all parents/caretakers are smart.
3. Not all kids/people who need caretakers who DO have smart parents/caretakers, follow their parents'/caretakers' instructions.

That's all I got.
