Default You had to see it to believe it !

It's 2:30 p.m. A home on our block is having the roof replaced by Batterbee roofing. Heard a loud thud, was not sure where it hit, but not on a window. Lot's of laughing and shouting. When I looked out it was the CREW from the house being roofed, they were playing soccer, yes, playing soccer in the street from the house they were working on (?) to the middle of the block. I could not believe my own eyes. Definitely DO NOT deny these VERY hard working people deserve breaks and some stress release time. We recently had our roof replaced and both days I gave the crew hot coffee and donuts, and also small gift cards for each to buy a lunch, but this soccer match. with the ball going hither and yon, was pretty bizarre sight. Had quite a few roofing companies working in our villages, never saw anything like this ! Have seen some getting a short nap under a big oak, sharing food, checking cell phones, etc. but this is a first !

Good for them!

2:30? Coffee break time, maybe?

Why not? As long as the roof gets done on time and within the quote, that is all that matters.

BB has contract roofing team like most. BB contractor roofers done excellent job out our roof. I watch them and when they was done could not find 1 nail or piece tar paper or piece of shingle. For them I would imagine let us when was young throwing football on break.

Would be more interesting if the game was on the roof.

I was expecting the story to end up in a window getting broken. Glad all was ok, and I find it refreshing that their break is spent in playing soccer instead of being glued to their phone!

Soccer to these folks is their passion in their lives. I managed an operation in Mexico City and when their national team played it was religiously a time for them to watch and support the team. To the point that we would stop production and literally pull out a television and they would huddle together on what they could sit on , buckets , stools, on the floor and cheer for their team. It was an emotional experience to see their profound support for the country and the game of Soccer.

Good for them. Batterbee replaced our roof and we are really pleased. Their employees seemed to like their job and worked well together. It is ok for them to have a little fun during their break.

Years ago I needed a French drain inside my basement (up North). The guys had to jack hammer the cement, dig it out by hand, lug it up the outside stairs, and around the house to dump it. The they had to do the reverse, by bringing the small stones to fill the void and the cement to finish it. You would think that they would look forward to taking a break at lunch. No! They were in the back yard throwing a foot ball around! They were some very hard working guys!

What does it really matter if others have experienced the same thing? Would you prefer that hard working employees/contractors sit around swearing loudly during their breaks which is what I've experienced. But it wasn't bothersome to the point where I needed to post it on a social board.

So long as no one was playing the accordion. Play an accordion, go to jail. It’s the law.

I hope they didn’t get reported and then have to quit playing soccer on their break. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this company and next time we need a roof, they are getting a call from us. Hopefully, I’ll get to watch a soccer game breakout when they do the roof.

The loud booming music was not enjoyable! Hopefully the company has good insurance if someone would have gotten hurt. Yes better laughter then sitting on other people's lawns ( had that happen from a uncaring neighbors landscapers). It's all good, except when someone in another house is ill and subjected to the game.Still better then some of the other activities noted on roof tops. Grateful it is the last house on the block that needed a new roof.
