District Manager, Janet Tutt, reported that 97-98% of the cost of The Villages cleanup would be covered by insurance and FEMA. Maybe they will credit our priority memberships 97-98% during the time we are unable to use what we've paid for.

It was an act of God. I shall recoup my losses by discontinuing my tithe.

More precisely, it was indeed "an act of God" but also "an insurable Act of God" You may want to check with your insurance company and see if they will pay your tithing fees for the year

How about putting in a claim with FEMA?? Probably will get the same result other than you can blame it on the Federal Government

Consider yourself lucky the biggest thing you have to worry about is if your priority membership is going to be extended....
The unit measure for Priority Fees and Trail Fees, is based on calendar days therefor it is quantifiable . As it stands now may not be worth the extra effort but if the closure continues it will have a material affect on residents.

some spoke to the issue that TVLSI was losing funds. maybe and maybe insurance covered their loss of income and even it they did not have a covered loss it would be their cost of doing business

Imagine how much oil companies make on that 1/10 of a penny per gallon of gas given the thousands of gas stations crossing the nation and millions and millions of gallons of gas being pumped 24/7

personal Best Regards:

I didn't think to insure my Priority Membership or my GHIN service. After further analysis, I have been informed by the wife that I am actually saving money by having the courses closed.

Wow......the only fair solution.

VGA is not profiting by not extending........they collected the same priority fee with or without Irma, with or without rain, with or without frost, with or without sink holes, with or without course closures.

Are you kidding? Standing water on a golf course doesn't rest the course. Standing water does extensive damage to the course including greens, tees and the fairways. The costs to put the golf courses back to a reasonable playable condition will likely be in the thousands of dollars. Some of these costs could be passed on to golfers.

Enough said........

Any ideas how these losses might be made up? You got it!
Most other courses in the area were open ten days ago!

So what does that mean? Just trying to understand your point.

Simply stated, most golf courses in the area were open 10 days ago. What's not to understand about that?
