Default irrigation water question

My doggies got me up at 4am to go potty and when I let them out, the sprinklers came on. Icky smelly water, which I knew it was. They had to pee, so they did and got all wet. So, naturally at 4:15 am I am bathing them. Not a nice way to start the day. My question is: can I set my timer to come on at midnight or 1 am or does it have to come on at that time? Is irrigation water available at midnignt?

Eh....What's up doc? Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Yes, you can set the sprinklers to come on any time you want. The instructions should be on the door of the control box. I think there are restrictions on when you can water. Something like after 6pm and before 10am but I'm not sure about those times. I'm sure you'll get more responses.

This link should answer your questions. http://www.thevillageswaterwisdom.com/cdd.html

If you happen to live in Lake County there is different information which you can also access from this website.

At this time of year, with all the rain, we don't even run our irrigation system.

Lawn irrigation water North of 466 is potable water - just like drinking water inside the house. Just one more thing to consider when buying a house in The Villages.

When the moose has an early morning call I check to see what zone(7 zones) is on and then use the other door. They are mostly set up around 4am or so because you dont want to water to early and have the water sit there on the grass for a long period. That promotes some disease and fungus after time. Do it to late and evaporation happens and you waste water. Thats what my (expert) told me.

Depending on what the zones are set at, your sprinklers could start at 2 A.M. and not got off until morning when the last zone finishes the cycle.

which days you run, start time and number of minutes per zone are all set by you using the timer on your wall. you should have gotten a DVD and manual at closing, if you didn't call home warranty they will take care of you. only thing i don't understand is why anyone has their sprinklers set on automatic with all of the rain we've had in the last few months, i set mine on manual in june and still have mushrooms growing in the lawn....gn
