Thanks, all. My vision is one of the few parts of me that still works well, but what I meant was that nobody can see the joggers until we're close because they have chosen to run on the side of the road that's in the dark.

The good news is that I haven't run anyone down yet! If there's a car or cart behind me, I always watch in my rearview mirror to see them make the same last-minute swerve into the other lane to give the jogger some room.

Oh, okay. Sometimes it's not Walmart and I'm actually going to McDonalds for a breakfast Egg McMmuffin.

Ah, queasy27 - The joggers have chosen to follow the law! Perhaps you could advocate for lighting on the dark side of the road rather than the joggers violate the law. Seems that would benefit all!

I used ot run/jog myself a lot. If I was going to be running on a street when it was dark, I was always sure to wear reflective clothing. It is true the joggers are doing the right thing running towards traffic but they also need to be sure they are prudent in regards to their safety and take responsibility for their safety as well.

Nobody can see the joggers until we are close??? I'll bet 20 year olds can easily see them and quickly react, too. Eyes age along with the rest of us. Denial is not a river in Egypt.

Outlaw, well named I think.

Why do people ignore the definition of "street"??
1street
noun \ˈstrēt\

1
a : a thoroughfare especially in a city, town, or village that is wider than an alley or lane and that usually includes sidewalks

b : the part of a street reserved for vehicles

c : a thoroughfare with abutting property <lives on a fashionable street>
2
: the people occupying property on a street <the whole street knew about the accident>

---
Pedestrians do not belong in vehicular streets and traffic!

Why not? From what I've been reading about multi modal paths, up to $300k could be spent putting stripes on the sides of them.
