Default Johnny Rockets has New Owners

Article in Daily Sun this week that two brothers have taken over the Johnny Rockets in Lake Sumter Landing. They have another JR plus another restaurant. They said in the article that to meet their level of customer service there was a complete turnover of management and staff.
I like many others had given up on the way it had been run................I will give them a try.

I remember eating at a Johnny Rockets but it was in the northeast.

I loved the 50's decor so if I were in TV, I would also give it a try.

Hopefully, the new management will turn it into an enjoyable place to eat.

Here's hoping. Always loved going to JR's in California.

The last two times I tried Johnny Rockets here, the service, food, and employees' attitudes were so bad that it's hard to have any confidence in the corporate management or franchisors that allowed that to go on for so long.

One of the most inexcusable ways customers were treated was that if you entered the place 20 minutes before 9:00 p.m., (this happened twice to me) they were closing, putting up all the chairs, and putting away all the food! They clearly did not WANT business after 8:30. Very bad attitude.

I ate lunch at Johnny Rockets at Lake Sumter Landing about a year ago when my daughter was visiting. Definitely was not worth the price.

I did see that there is new ownership and staff now. However, I am not planning to go back.

Give me a Bar Burger and 2 for 1 draft beer at Cody's Road House anyday over Johnny Rockets. Heck of a lot cheaper and great tasting food at Cody's.

I don't think forgiving is necessary. This is a new owner, he can't fix what happened in the past, only what happens from now on.

I ate lunch there on Monday. I could see a LOT of improvement! Tables were clean, floor was clean, Ladies' room was in good shape. Employee attitude is GREAT! I was greeted promptly, waited on pleasantly, and served in a timely manner. EVERYONE was smiling! And my burger and milkshake were delicious. I'd go back.

Just because it did't work with the previous owner, it doesn't mean that this time would be the same. If the owners' are smart enough, they should be watching our posts. I would if I was an owner. Let's try and give the new owner benefit of the doubt. We do need to help local business if they deserve it.

I heard it was being sold, but another Johnny Rocket's owner buying them is a surprise to me. I'll give them a bit to get in gear and give them a try.

We went a month ago (not sure if new or old owner) and had a good lunch. Service was great and loved the fries and the $5 patty melt. Went back last week (new owner) and no $5 specials. Milkshake was just okay and fries below average. Service was still good but we won't be back.

Went there yesterday during the Oktoberfest Party at LSL. Used the coupon in the paper to buy a shake and get a free burger. Greeter served us since we wanted it to go. Place was chaotic although not overly busy. It took a long time to get our food and then server could not be sure which shake was which. Turns out that it didn't matter - mocha chocolate and banana chocolate taste the same and weren't very good. One burger was cooked well; one was too pink in the middle.

Just thinking, why would any business person open a JR in TV? Come on. Really? Is it suppose to remind us of days gone by?

What would be nice is a good New Jersey style family diner where you could get a cup of coffee and a b.l.t. or a muffin in the evening after a night out on the town. One of those places that serves a good homemade breakfast with grilled home fries and makes a great light lunch.

I miss my diners.

Had lunch there couple weeks ago before going to movie. Clean, service was excellent and the food was good. Staff was dancing, smiling and having a great time with the patrons. Will go back and a big good luck to the new owner.
