Default Environmental Woes
Sad that nobody is talking about where all these battery's are going once they are no longer useful, or what all these battery's are doing to the environment. They sound great, until you look at the reality( and also cost to replace every 2-3 yrs)[/QUOTE
what's really sad in my eyes is that we worry so much about the environmental impact of air and mineral deficiencies then we do the total destruction of our planet from violence and political issues that will probably keep us from lasting long enough as a planet to worry about the environmental issues

I'm still working so I can't do this whenever I like, but I find it to be quite fun to take extended trips on the cart

The "Talk of the Villlages" TOP 3

#1) Costco
#2) Dog Poop
#3) Gas vs. Electric carts.

Current #3 kicked "2 ladies in an (electric or gas?) golf cart with clip board" down to #4!

That being said (to keep on topic) my electric gets ~65 miles depending on how often I use or don't use it's air conditioner or heater. Heater sucks battery but keeps me warm, A/C has much less effect. Lithium batteries are now ~5 years old and have not lost a mile of range. Cart has over 16,000 miles (~26,000km) and the power windows and windshield wipers are still functioning.

No, I do not play golf.

Are you planning on going from Middleton all the way up when the multimodal trails open? That would be an even bigger adventure

How many people are trying to find slower ways to get to work or shopping??? The clock is ticking....
Sometimes the journey is better than the destination. You call it 'wasting time', I call it 'enjoying the ride'. Finding pleasure in the trip is important because 'the clock is ticking'.

From Fenney Grill to our home in Soulliere Villas is 26.4 miles and took us 1 hour 45 minutes. It was a great ride, just love doing things like this. A couple weeks ago we went from our house to open houses in Lake Denham which was relatively the same distance. As the building continues are rides keep improving.

Allow me to correct your misconceptions:

According to manufacturer's data, lithium-ion batteries last between 7 - 10 years with proper maintenance. Golf carts that belong to an individual person or household tend to last longer (I assume it's compared to a fleet, like a golf course).

Volkswagen reclaims approximately 70% of the raw material from used batteries and is aiming for 97 percent in the future.

Ps: During this time of change it's important that accurate facts are available and posted

Hey, if I ever need to make the drive by cart that far, now I know. Thank you so much for sharing.
The round trip is still theoretically within the range of my electric cart but I doubt I would ever press my luck trying it![/QUOTE

Lithium battery get 75-90 miles not problem. Biggest problem with how far a cart will go is who wants to sit in a golf cart for 50 miles no matter what kind of seats you have.
