I have covid19 right now. Tested positive Friday morning after some fever Wed. and Thur night. Though I am diabetic and take blood pressure and cholesterol meds, I am a healthy 66-year-old man. Being quarantined here in my house (I live alone) has been ok as I have gotten caught up on things that needed to be done. I thank God that it has been a mild case so far and pray for others not as fortunate.

I watch these statistics, not every single day but when I hear there is an increase.

On November first there were 91 who died from Covid-19 from Sumter County.

Today here are the statistics. 109 with two who died yesterday.

We are so close to being able to get the vaccine that will make us safe. Please all be a little more careful than you have been. I don't want you to get sick or die now when the end of this pandemic is near.

As a Nurse I tell you that many deaths have underlying causes, which you may not know about, be it heart disease, diabetes, pulmonary disease, cancer which are the real causes of death but unfortunately get named as Covid virus! Many healthy people get Covid and recover as they are healthy, some don’t even know they have had it, all those have antibodies following Covid (how long for we are not sure) just so you realize that the underlying causes are the real culprits just as in the Flu virus, no different

We lost a son to Covid. He didn't live here and he had multiple underlying conditions. He never went out, but his son who lived with him went out every day for work and apparently bought it home.

We learned that if a person dies at home, then they are not tested for Covid. This means that many people die from Covid but they are not added to the statistics. We know he had it because his daughter said he was experiencing loss of taste and smell.

Bottomline... Covid is real. It is not a hoax. Mask up!

I did have an uncle who die with Covid but he was 93 years old. He went into the hospital for another issue and got it while he was in there. I don't know if Covid caused his death or if it was the original issue.

The numbers however don't lie. About 90% of the people that get Covid will experience mild to moderate symptoms. About 7.5 % will experience severe symptoms and may have long lasting effects and about 2.5% will die.

Having said that however I look at it this way If you were given a jar of 100 jelly beans was was told that 90 of them were fine, seven of them would make you very sick and three of them would kill you, would you eat any of the jelly beans?

Depends on the flavors.

Unfortunately those percentages are from the KNOWN positive cases. We'll never know just how many people actually had it and never knew it.

Sorry for your friends. That is a thread that needed to be started. It was just a matter of time before it would become "up close and personal " to MANY TV Landers. I have TRIED, without much success, to post about the serious nature of this CV. I have been called, "glass 1/2 empty" and "fear-mongering" and probably worse for my efforts. I doubt(?) that any DENIERS will unleash their venom on you - there can be no doubt about your sincerity and purpose. Note: I coached high school bball - many headaches and very little pay. Note: I like your philosophic quote!

“As a nurse” can be misleading. You may have an underlying condition, but if it’s not going to cause your death in the near term, but you get a significant case of covid, it’s covid that pushed you over. Please don’t spread this propaganda. This is the kind of thinking that make people doubt the seriousness of this pandemic.

US confirmed 247,403 new cases on Wednesday and 3,656 Americans died of the coronavirus in a single day. This is NOT “all of a sudden my underlying condition caught up with me. And what a coincidence!!!! It did for all these other people at the exact same time!!!” Medical professionals should be conferring truth and science, not the political garbage that has caused so many people to doubt the severity of this thing. I take I you’re not practicing anymore. Nurses of all people should have compassion for those out there on the frontlines battling this monster.

The predicted deaths by Sept 2021 (even with vaccines) are as high as 700,000. Hospitalizations are DOCUMENTED at a new record for the US. Citing a statistic can NEVER be construed as "fear-mongering". Numbers have ZERO emotions - only people's interpretations of them drive emotions.

I know of 8 friends in NY that have died of Covd19 two of them we very good friends one that was down here 3 years ago he went very fast,the other one was on a ventilator for over 30 days,he came off it he was getting better he was still in the Hospital him and his wife Were looking for a rehabilitation place for him to go because he was in the hospital bed for over 30 days,he just died that night,and he was in good health before he got sick. YES IT IS VERY REAL
