Polirudb, you give a different perspective. Thank you. I never thought I could look at a fly and be thankful.

It is my understanding that they are an aphrodisiac.

Last December I was hospitalized with Covid-19 for eight days. I was admitted on December 19th and got out on the 27th. I almost did not make it out.

On my second lonely night at the hospital (no visitors allowed), I began thinking that I may never see my three kids again, or my grandson, or my granddaughter (who was on her way, born April of this year), or the rest of my family and friends. I also thought about all the other things I may never see or experience again.

I thought about the things I usually don’t care for, like meeting with my accountant in March, going to the dentist, and yes, washing lovebugs from my car. I made it my goal to be alive until at least September 2021 so that I could do all three (I forgot at the time that lovebugs would also be here in May).

I am happy to report that I am currently alive and well, I filed my taxes in April, had my teeth cleaned in May, and I drive extra carefully nowadays to make sure that I don’t harm those beautiful little lovebugs. I will be here for my grandson’s 17th birthday (tomorrow) and will soon be holding my precious five-month-old granddaughter (who was born on my birthday!).

I realize the lovebugs will soon be gone, but May is just around the corner.

Stay healthy and safe.
Very nice post!

I ate at least one or maybe two if they were doing their thang when I stepped out of the garage tonight.

I look at them the same way you do, gratefully. It's been a rough couple of years but we're still here.

September is Love bug season, and October is Snow Bird season.... it's a revolving cycle.
