Default July 4th Fireworks

I just got done shoveling snow AGAIN and my mind wandered to warmer days. We hope to have a house in The Villages by July and it isn't a season that is a high rent time. We normally take our grandsons to the beach July 4th week and talked to them yesterday to see if they'd like to go with us for a trip to The Villages. We have very fond memories of trips with our own children to Florida from glass bottom boats to state parks. Add The Villages to the agenda seemed like a great vacation. The 8 year olds question threw us off a bit. He asked if there were fireworks in The Villages over the 4th of July.

We thought they may miss the beach or ocean and found it was the fireworks that were the most memorable. Are there places to view the fireworks over 4th of July in The Villages?

Neighboring communities offer displays - but none are available within the boundaries of the villages.

OBXNana,

You will find many activities in and around TV (or within an hour's drive) to keep you grands amused and make their stay with you memorable!
Just a few that come to mind that we have enjoyed are:
1) Silver Springs has reopened as a state park and the glass-bottomed boats rides are still great fun.
2). Manatee Springs State Park is located near the Gulf Coast. They have many rescued manatees and other animals. Has an under water viewing station.
Griffin State Park (south on 441/27 has canoeing and kayaking.

Just a few...I'm sure that others will have many more great ideas.

My husband and I are also big fireworks lovers...we go to Leesburg on the 4th for fireworks. Nothing extravagant, but enough to enjoy. They have a whole day of festivities which we have not gone to also.

Leesburg has a great celebration. They had an exhibition baseball game between their minor league tea and a group of Iraq veterans. Lot's of activities for the kids and a great fireworks display.
