Some homes do have shutters for hurricanes and some homes including mine were built with hurricane shatterproof glass by the builder.
I am on a small lake and not a flood zone.
No issues with heavy rains or hurricanes flooding.
I would actually say that prices of homes cost are very similar to the villages. Zillow shows my old premier home in the villages at 1.3 to 1.5 estimated value which seems pretty accurate.
Prices are the same depending on home and lot ie view.
Visit both and then decide.
No one place is best for all.

Do you not understand the concept of pros and cons from folks with experience at both? Wouldn’t this site be a likely site to ask for that comparison? And if the OP asked the question on the other site, wouldn’t they be subject to the same criticism there?
Maybe a better response from you would have been “ I don’t have experience with both, but it looks like you are getting a great response from others that do’
