New Maytag fridge in 2008, my sister had same model and we liked it so that we got one along with two of her kids. All were dead by 6 years but ours was replaced by home warranty. We got a Kenmore. It started freezing everything during COVID, warranty said it was because insulation in back wall collapsed and that was not covered so cancelled warranty. Replaced with another Kenmore, that's all we could find at the time, that one died in four years because the part to fix it was no longer available. Repairman said stay away from Kenmore, they now buy the cheapest appliances they can find and slap their name on it. Repairman suggested Samsung, hopefully this one will last a while.

Wow, after owning appliances for over 50 years, I have never (knock on wood) had a refrigerator go bad. This includes used ones and ones that I’ve replaced and moved to the garage as a secondary refrigeration storage. I wonder if there’s any any mitigating circumstances that might be a cause.
