We have a CYV with the washer and dryer in the garage. Yes it can get hot in the garage at times during the summer but you don't stay in there long. Normally, we start the laundry in the morning when it is cooler. My wife or I never pulled up a chair and watched the washer and dryer go thru and complete their cycles as we sat in the garage

They free up extra space inside the house which is more efficient and works for us. The house is quieter as a previous poster stated too.

Personal preference.

My house has the laundry in the garage. I am perfectly fine with it. Beats having to carry it up steps in our old 2 story house! One plus for me is I have shelving above it and next to it which gives me a place to hang the clothes I do not put in the dryer. The outside air gets to it, and since you cannot hang clothes outside it is the next best thing.

Before we bought our CYV, I was convinced that I wanted a laundry room inside. When we found our house, it had absolutely everything we wanted except the indoor laundry room. I mean everything we dreamed of. We jumped on it. For us, it was a no-brainer. As long as there is a place to do laundry and I won't have to go to the Laundromat, I know I won't regret the choice.

It's not like I'm going to let the garage get filthy or anything, and I'm not planning on spending much time out there doing anything but moving clothes from one machine to the other. Sorting and folding can easily be done indoors, where it's cool and comfortable!

But it is a personal choice. For me, when it came right down to it, an indoor laundry room was not a deal breaker.
