I have an ego leaf blower, edger, and chainsaw. I did have a battery fail but the company replaced it for me free of charge.

Can't speak to battery mowers though. I thought about it but I wasn't 100% sure that a self propelled, mulching mower would work with Saint Augustine grass so I bought a Honda gas, although they discontinued making gas mowers in September 2023.

Maybe battery mowers have plenty of power, but I was worried because my ego chainsaw is seriously underpowered for cutting down a tree any bigger than 6 inches diameter compared to my echo gas.

I would like a battery mower if there are any suggestions from those that have one or warnings about what to avoid and why, Ego, Dewalt, et cetera.

Not sure how battery mower and St. Augustine grass would work. Worse case I would go back to a self-propelled gas mower, but which one?

Thanks.
Trust you have already done this. Many garages in TV are very small. I did not even think about cutting my own grass after seeing size of our garage.

After a ton of research I chose Stihl. I bought a self propelled model and a string trimmer. Stihl is known for making quality products, so that was a big part of my decision. I got them at Ace Hardware in Wildwood. Paid a little more but I like dealing with independent businesses.

When considering moving to TV, the last thing I wanted to do here was waste my precious time cutting the lawn after 50 years of doing just that. TV has offered so much that I gladly gave it up to enjoy life and the people we hired 3 years ago are awesome. Consider that option, bro!

Don't buy an Ego, it doesn't cut well. It always leaves a step of grass uncut. So you end up cutting grass twice!

Basically all DC electric motors have high torque. So they should handle Florida grass.

If you’re considering a lawn service it’s average $60 or so and you may appreciate it in the hot summer, LOL. BTW, your neighbors will appreciate the low noise of the battery vs. motorized mower as you will be out there an hour vs. 5 minutes with a service.
I dislike the noise from several neighbor's LOUD professional lawn mutilators. Do they remove the mufflers?

I have an EGO mower that is on it's 8th year...Original 7ah battery. StAug needs to be cut high so high torque/larger battery is really not needed. Get self-propelled with headlights for those hot evenings in August The key to long battery calendar life is to charge full just before use and not after you mow...Let the battery sit at low charge between uses. Also, only mow in late evening so the sun isn't beating down on top of your battery.

We have very good success with the Mammotion Luba 2 robot. It is small, quiet, handles St. Augustine grass well, and can be scheduled to run as often as needed. Setup consists of showing it boundaries by driving it around with your phone as a controller. (like driving a radio control toy car) Lay out several zones, set some schedules, and let it do the work.
I am on my second EGO, works very well but made the mistake of not buying self propelled the first one. That said, I hate cutting my small lawn every week in the Summer. Have thought about a robot but the idea of burying a line turned me off. The Mammotion looks very intriguing. How frequently must you run it in the Summer with our fast growing grass?

A very important advantage to electric mowers is you can stand them on end or hang them on the wall. Takes up much less space.

We moved here 9 years ago and our lot is about 1/4 acre. We went to Wildwood Mower And Saw and bought a Toro mower with a self-propelled drive and a battery to help start it. It has worked fine for the last 9 years.
