Default Let's talk about activities

A recent post by a newbie - frannieb - mentioned that she'd like to read information about what TV'ers do etc.

In my time on TOTV I've seen an increase in more chat, which is fine, but maybe we need to keep a post open about what activities those of you that are in TV take part in.

Let's hear it from the residents about what they do. I'll start a partial list of topics to discuss what (and how often) you particpate in:

Sports:
Pickleball - Golf - Running - Walking - Skating - Biking - Tennis - Softball - Swimming -Other

Activities:
Cards - Pool - Boccie - State clubs - Other

Crafts:
Quilting - Knitting - Ceramics - Woodshop - Other

MISC:
Volunteer opportunities - College courses - Work opportunities - Many others

Use this partial list to kick off a discussion on what you actually partake in and detail how often you do each activity.

Russ

Taking the dogs to Doggie Doo Run Run (a dog park) probably doesn't count because it's located outside TV! : It is the one "activity" I faithfully do every single day of the week (as do many, many other Village residents). My dogs absolutely adore it, they yelp with joy when they realize where we're headed.

A lot of dog owners don't know about DDRR because they don't advertise (low budget I expect). If there are any dog owners out there who want information on DDRR, please send me a PM.

Take a walk around the buildings on Lake Sumter Landing Square. There a lot of plaques that tell a history of Lake Sumter Landing even if it seems to have nothing to do with what actually happened on those "sites".

Nonie, I like to walk too. I think there's a fitness trail north of 466 that's used for walking, but.. since I don't live there yet, not really sure.

Love to find more about this

There's a trail I believe north of the Savannah rec center bordering Buena Vista. Near some tall towers?

The fitness trail is in Springdale under the powerlines. It's an electrifying walk.

It's almost impossible to top the Great Fumar, but, in the spirit of the intent of this post, here's some of the stuff I do:

Golf - just about every day - even though I'm a relative newbie; my bum knee is interfering with regular tennis.

Tennis - was up to 5 days a week at Glenview/Lopez with ladies and a mixed group until the knee gave out.

Walking - the neighborhoods - twice a week

Pickleball - drop in at local rec center - once every 2 weeks

Swimming - laps in local pool or a Regional Sports Pool - 3 times a week

Lounging at the pool/Reading a book - a few days a week

Shows at Savannah Center - Once a Month

TOTV Luncheon - Once a month

MD/DE/DC Club - attend every other month or so

Sabal Chase Ladies/SC Neighborhood - attend every other month or so

Neighborhood monthly Driveway Party

Music at the squares - twice a week

College classes - 2 classes a year

Games at rec centers - once a month

Reading and Posting on TOTV - 5 hrs a day (it seems)

I try to walk everyday. I wear a pedometer so I get in 10K steps. I usually walk on the paths or through neighborhoods. I like to vary my route so I do not get bored.

I attend Qijong and Yoga classes two or three times a week.

I belong to the Fitness Center and try to get there at least 4 times a week.

I recently joined the Foreign Film Club.

I would eventually like to learn line dancing.
