Yes, 12 mph....there is some kind of restriction on them for safety/insurance reasons. I called when my parents were here on a lifestyle visit and they said it is set up that way on purpose.

It’s been that way since we were here in 2010, everyone knows you are on a lifestyle, cause you can run faster that the cart.

I would say that restriction would promote multi modal rage.

We were on the Lifestyle Preview Visit in Jan 2017. We stayed in the Alden bungaloes. Very, very nice. I would have to say that the cart we were provided performed decently. We were able to get lost very quickly! I didn't feel it was overly slow at all. We also did a follow up visit in a private rental, and the cart's speedo said we did 19-20 mph, and it didn't seem any different than the cart we had on the LVP.

My guess is the lifestyle carts are indeed detuned. Mine was for sure. I drove it once around the block and stuck to driving my car. This was 2011 if I recall correctly. After all, many lifestyle guests have had little or no experience driving carts on roadways, especially on streets strange to them. Most have driven carts only on golf courses. The speed governing may be for insurance purposes as well. I would not put my 14-1/2 year old grandson with his fresh learner's permit behind the wheel of my 445 HP BMW! He can learn to drive in the 4 cylinder stick shift Tacoma!

When we did our LVP in 2015, I clocked the speed on my cell phone at 19 MPH. It was still slow compared to most locals doing 25.... We stayed in Lake Sumter. Bought 2 houses since then, seems like forever. I love TV
