Default Lifestyle preview and kids

The Villages touts all the wonderful activities available to visiting grandchildren.

Does it make sense to have your adult children and your grandchildren visit you during those lifestyle preview visits you need to make in order to evaluate things?

How are those "visitors of visitors" treated with passes?

Default I couldn't have handled it but maybe you can.

Hmmmm. I can only answer for myself. On our first lifestyle trip to TV, (we had visited a friend earlier for less than 24 hours) we had all we could do to just keep ourselves afloat emotionally. There is SO much to see and absorb.Neither of us could sleep very well, and we kept getting lost, and there are the roundabouts and all the houses to look at and into and rec centers and golf and country clubs and the LifeLongLearning College and people who are interesting to talk to and lovely places to eat and on and on and on.......

It would have been difficult for me to assume my role as "matriarch" which includes keeping everyone happy, fed, smiling, rested, interested...etc.

We had the rest of our family on the next trip, but we had already bought a house by then. (Which you could wait to do)

AND they were very pleased with our choice and loved it too.

We did the lifestyle visit and then rented for two months. During the rental we had family visit, so they could see The Villages too. I agree it may be too much during the livestyle visit.

Agree with all above. When we did our first visit, we were both so blown away by everything we saw, it was enough just to keep our senses much less worry about anything else. Matter of fact, the wife and I hardly remembered anyone of the houses that we were shown! We had to contact our Sales Rep and go back the next day on our own to really just look at the homes.
I would strongly recommend your first visit be strictly as a couple.

I agree with Army Guy. Come visit by yourself the first time. Our first visit was so busy with salespeople etc. we wouldn't have any time to enjoy guests. You can always make a second visit if needed. If we would have had guests on the first visit we never would have had time to make an informed decision.

Don't know for sure but I don't think visiting children & grandchildren would be encouraged on a LPP.

All advertising and promotions refer to couples.

I would check with your TV representative as to what the policy is regarding guests of guests.

with those who say to leave the others home during your Lifestyle Preview. You will have far too much to absorb to allow being host/hostess to anyone, family or not!

I agree with all. Come and visit yourself. You can enjoy all that is offered. Come back a second time and show your family that all the "hype" is true. Enjoy

Old cynical me says that the Life Style visit is a marketing tool for TV and an opportunity to experience the place for potential residents. It is not a relatively inexpensive family vacation/reunion so the kids can see Disney World.

Default Leave the family behind and take a camera!

Hi,

When we looked round we didn't have a family to show round anyway as we are from the UK but we did find a digital camera invaluable.

We took photos of each home we were shown (starting with a picture of the outside because you can never remember which house is which when your head is spinning round) and then went through them all in the evening with a nice glass of wine to hand! Of course we also took pictures of all the rec centres and town centres and other amenities too (you can tell I'm English from the spelling now can't you).

Anyway, it was just a thought, though I expect you have already organised that.

Muncle, you are right on! Last night I was telling my wife about this post and we both said the same thing. Doesn't sound like they want to buy, just cheap resort offering free meals!!

Wow, wish we would have thought of the camera on our first visit, that would have helped greatly! That is a great tip.
