$4,000 for lighting protection - That must be for a commercial building. My designer home cost much much less. Have A-1 Lightning www.a1lightining.com (Danny Mack 352-465-0620) give you an estimate. My home in Connecticut was hit by lightning (no protection or surge devices) everything electronic was fried and several light switches and light bulbs were blown out. A hole the size of a basketball was made in the roof where the bolt struck. Most people will say home lightning protection isn't worth the cost - I say it depends on your personal risk aversion.
