This is all good information. We rent the surge protector from SECO, but I'm not sure our inside surge protector's are 600 joules. And none on garage opener or irrigation. Time for some re-checking, or calling Pikes, who has always done good work for us. (Whom?)

Just become knowledgeable about what full surge means/covers/does not include.
It is all inclusive of many items and has to be customized for some applications that need protection.
