Default the LILY floorplan

Is anyone else out there in TV having the same problem ???
Our floorplan is the Lily and we are having a problem with air circulation . The master bath and bedroom is at least 3 degrees warmer than the rest of the house in the summer and now is 3-5 degrees colder .I had to use a fan in the master bath to stay cool last summer and a heater now to stay warm . The A/C company says it is normal for a 3 degrees difference but I don't think we should have to be using extra fans and heaters . I would appreciate any comments on this .

did you check to make sure the vent is all the way open, our vents have two adjustments, one for direction of the air and one to control the amount of air that comes out....gn

A good HVAC contractor can zone your house at the registers.

We had a similar issue with our Lantana - only the problem room was the front BR. During the summer it was too warm and during the winer it is cold. We were given the same story (some difference in temperature is to be expected.) They wanted to leave it at that, claiming that it was within the specs, but we persisted, so they finally came back out and worked on the system. It seemed to help a little during the summer, but now that it is cold outside, the front room is noticeably colder than the back of the house (although that may have something to do with its northerly exposure.)

You or you HVCA guy need to balance the system, I think you can do that better than he can, because you live there and know what rooms may be hotter or cooler than other rooms. It may take a few attempts until you get it just right. By closing some of the vents a little, it will send more volume of air to the area where you are having a problem. A good HVAC company will have an instrument that can measure the volume of air out of each vent and adjust the damper to adjust the volume at each vent. What I have seen often is that the vents that are close to the HVAC unit pump out alot more air than the vents in the bedrooms. I hope this helps. Oh by the way I own a Plumbing Heating and A/C company in Jersey and this weather is driving us crazy. 16 hour days.

Default A Last resort

If they can't get it to balance you can have an inline fan installed in the vent that isn't putting out enough air. It mounts in the vent or duct and is electric. It can be connected to run anytime the system does or with a zone thermostat. It is not a cheep solution but a final one. We had to do it in one house we owned. In another we found the duct was blocked and that was causing the problem.

Hope this helps,
Aloha for now,
Trudy

I wonder how much the distance between the affected room and the thermostat is causing the problem? Especially if it is on the far side of the house? Multiple thermostats?
