You know, there's a law in Ireland that whenever there's line dancing you have to keep your arms straight down on your sides. See for yourself.

Are you saying line dancers are drinking too much?

From my observations, MOST line dancers get a kick out of the little kids trying o dance. Maybe lighten up just a little bit?

Hence her name was not released, victims for the most part in our society have some protection under the law.
Should one of your friends or relatives find themselves on the short end of a push, slap or punch, I bet your tune would be much different.
"Competent police agencies" often make mistakes. Frequently in the heat of the moment they decide who is the "victim" and who is the aggressor based on who called them in to the scene. So that is why we have courts, to discern the truth from the opinions.
By the way , I would consider chest bumping and getting inches from another's face while yelling at them to be the equivalent of a "push". So who was the initiator of inappropriate acts of aggression?

I don't know why The Villages version is called line dancing. It looks to me more like line semi-coordinated staccato changes of direction by people looking at their feet while music is being played

I do have to admit.....that I enjoy a little YMCA and cupid shuffle.
But...
If you ever watch the women and some men who do the line dancing, over in the corner of the square......look closely.....they are never smiling.....never look like they are enjoying themselves......always look...somewhat unhappy.I think they take themselves much too seriously.

When hubby and I are out there, we are usually laughing at ourselves and the other dancers, so much.....that we are all smiles....Its fun.....and funny at the same time.

Take a look next time your at the squares.....check out the line dancers who are always there....they are always the same people.....they never look like they are enjoying themselves..........curious huh......

another thought.....we love Scooter......we adore him, he makes you laugh at him and yourself.

But.....once again the line dancers....always the same people.....do not enjoy his rendition of the dances, so they purposely do there own dances while 95% of the other scooter people follow along with him....

Always wondered why they did that.......seems kind of "not nice" to me anyway.

Didn't know there was so many line dance haters here in the villges? Geez, I thought dancing was about having fun not worrying about what other dancers are doing. Guess not

Line dancers push others off the dance floor. They move together like a giant robot marching to some hidden commanders directions. It is hard to dance as a couple at times because if the dance floor is filled they just crash into you and push you out of their way. What ever happened to smiling, joyful couples enjoying a dance together?

I, personally, would like to see more Morris Dancers. Notice that they carry sticks.

It must have been pretty hard to find six people named Morris. Their pool tables must be pretty small.

I never gave line dancers or any other group a second thought until this incident at Spanish Springs. And I for the most part, could care less now. BUT, I sense this entitled mob mentality coming from the "friends of the accused". First it was the little kids fault, then the mothers fault, then the grandmother's fault, and now the police were so wrapped up in the heat of the moment, they made a mistake.
The squares are for everyone, no group should have their own section for anything, at anytime. It's no one's business who dances where, regardless of their age. Age 2 to 102, it's everyone's square. Every inch of it. But it seems the line dancers have priority...and someone disagreed. And now they gang up on her.
I think the most adult person in this whole episode is the little child that was in a space that they were allowed to be in IE: PUBLIC SQUARE the whole square.
