Default Live Web Cam at LSL

There is not a day that goes by that the thought of retirement and living in TV will someday be a reality for my wife and I. Almost daily, I access the Live Web Cams at LSL and SS just to see whats going on. Especially in the late afternoon when there are activities occuring.
This morning, I attempted to access the LSL Web Cam and I could not make the connection. It was just a white-out screen. Then linking to the SS Cam was no problem. Going back to the LSL Cam would not even connect with it this second time. It seems that the Web Cam Internet link is severed and no longer a valid connection.
Is anyone else having difficulties connecting to the LSL Cam at this time? If so, who in TV is responsible for this Web feature?
THANKS.

Thanks Vil. Hopefully someone there can bring this to the attention of the Web people who handle this feature.

I've never been able to get to the cams in either square. When ever I try it brings me to a Yahoo site. Any suggestions & help for this problem?

If you type in this link yourself or cut and paste into your browser address bar you should be OK. Don't just hit the link. http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_ss.asp

They have issues with some links from TOTV to The Villages sites.

I was cruising through LSL late yesterday morning and happened to think about the webcam. I looked up to the roof of the building where it is and saw a couple of ladders leaning up there...so I guess they are working on it.

Question:

I'm not very PC literate but could anyone answer the following question?

Do you need a web cam on your computer to view the LSL and Spanish Springs web cams?

Hi 2B,

No you don't. You only need to to link to the site. LSL is still down, but you should be able to view the SS webcam by clicking on the link below or copying and pasting the URL into your browser.

http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_ss.asp

Did that work for you?

No you don't need a web cam on your computer. If you can get the link to open, you'll get to see what's going on in each square. The one for Lake Sumter Landing generally shows the town square and the gazebo where entertainment is held. Not a real close up picture, but you can see people dancing. The Spanish Springs camera doesn't always point at the same location. Most of the time it's pointing again at the square, but you can't see things as well in the evening. They're fun, I check on them everyday!
