Good advice from a lifestyle instructor. I will IMMEDIATELY plant some seeds n the backyard, jog to the liqueur store, and buy a couple of gallons of vodka. I will be ROCKING by next week (if I live through it)! I wonder if liqueur is a French word - I just noticed - must have lived a sheltered life, born before keyboards (BK).
Maybe the reason for the 2 U's is that if you drink too much - you end up walking and driving in U-turns? Just saying.

Everything in moderation except the 11 hours of football I’m watching now ( I love my NFL ticket) and my bookie at least today I do and spending most of 40 years in third world hot spots straight vodka or gin was healthier then most of the water and during the many years in Africa the British would tell you gin kept the tropical diseases away until it didn’t lol

Full service please as I enjoy a good Bourbon.
The only way I can describe what I'm looking for is this... if Dean Martin walked in and liked what he saw. We'll that's the kind of place I'm looking for. I'd be willing to drive a few hours if need be. I'd just like a fun place to unwind and enjoy.
Thanks in advance. = )
If you found a bar. Please let me know

Years ago we used to have The Cattle Baron in Spanish Springs. It had a lovely dining room and a lounge where you can have a drink and enjoy the evening.

We all love The Villages for so many reasons, however there are some things sorely lacking; a gentleman's, gentlelady's bar, a cool dance club and a decent restaurant. Let's keep each other posted.

I agree we need something other than the run of the mill eating and drinking places available here. I know there is a private restaurant in SLS, what about an enterprising person opening a private members only bar in SS or SLS. Membership would be sold out in a week.

After giving it some more thought, there has to be places around here somewhere where the wealthy Floridians go. If you ever saw the photos of the people who attended the Cattlemans Ball which used to be held here every year, then you would know they are not spending their evenings in TV.
Guess we are the exception to your rule, because we attended the Cattleman's Baron Ball for years and years for the charity aspect.....and we are very happy to spend our time in TV. ANYTHING with a worthwhile cause will bring those willing to donate hard earned income. Of course, we certainly ranked on the low end of the income spectrum....but felt the need to support and donate none the less.

For special dining requirements, we found our membership worth the cost......Petroleum Club of San Antonio | Member- Owned | Private Club - Petroleum Club Of San Antonio

I agree that a quiet bar, possibly a piano bar, would be a hit in The Villages. I had hopes for that corner in Brownwood that sat empty for years but it has been taken by Harvest.
I really think low noise bar would be a big hit.

There is no place in The Villages exactly like what you are asking about. Local/nearby places that are worth checking, though all will probably be more casual and/or noisier than what you are looking for, are; the bar (or the terrace overlooking the lake) at the Waterfront Inn (this is probably the closest to what you are looking for), Garvino's (as mentioned above; though I believe it only offers wine), some of the country club bars (check Palmer, Evans Prairie, Belle Glade, Legacy, Glenview, perhaps others), Cityfire in Brownwood, Red Sauce, Augustine's, BlueFin, and McCalls'; and these places in Leesburg: Brick and Barrel, Frank's Place, The Warehouse, and Pickle Barrel (we especially love this quiet 'Cheers' type place), and the other places recommended in the comments above. There are also dueling pianos on Saturday nights at LazyMac's. The Hilton Hotel in Ocala has a nice bar; and the new Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Ocala has a very nice terrace bar overlooking the square. Yellow Pony Pub and Stirrups Restaurant (and perhaps other places) at the World Equestion Center in Ocala, Mission Inn, and Harbor Hills Country Club would be other places worth checking out.

In our 15 years here we've come to accept that while not everything we wish for is here, there are too many things here that aren't anywhere else, so we're here to stay.

They do but the hipsters are not very friendly to mature folks. They forget we were partying before they were thought of.

The Blue Martini in Orlando sounds like what you're looking for. I just can't enjoy a $15 drink.
