Actually, if you’ve noticed, I agree with many of your viewpoints. Putting down Christians and their beliefs rubs against my grain. We are an imperfect people but from what I see, most Christians try to live within the tenets of their church. The original poster wants a conservative church, go from there and leave the cheering for who to back at the polls or watch on TV news out of it. Many of us are sick of politics and tune it all out when we can.

Could you point out where it says that?

I mean, it does say this: "Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise."

But where exactly does it mention the "separation of church and state"?

Since you had nothing to offer in the way of advice, it would have been better to keep silent...

But no, you just had to respond...

Try the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 231 Lake Griffin Road in Lady Lake. Just 1 block East of 441 / 27 where 466 crosses 441 / 27. Great Pastor who follows Bible!

I think Christian churches should deal with “our country’s desperate situation” by following Christ’s teachings, not by urging people to vote for T. or D or waving flags. I’m a patriot, but I don’t think that belongs in church. And it seems to me that the teachings and actions of the ex-president are the antithesis of what it means to be a Christian. After that vote, I’d say “Come out of her, my people!” The Dragon, the Beast, and the False Prophet are all three among us, and they can be found in the sorts of churches you are looking for. I hope you can find a church that will lead you back to true Christianity instead of the worship of what you call “traditional conservative values”. There are REAL traditional conservative American values to be found in a few churches, but they are churches where people spend long hours reading their Bibles, care for each other, pray together, and don’t think Fox News is the voice of God.
Well said and succinct. In todays world religion and conservative traditional values are not the same.

Notice how, since I had no advice, I DIDN'T post a derogatory comment in response to the OP's question?

Maybe some posting on this thread should try that...

Given how many are looking for, or attending the Churches of Hellfire and Damnation, I would hazard a guess that an order of The Brothers of the Spanish Inquisition would do rather well in TV area.

And the mocking of faith continues vs an answer to the op’s question. But that’s a good way to destroy a nation and put demonic principles to work, isn’t it!

The OP's question has long been answered.
The was no mocking of faith either.
Many responses have mentioned they like some hell, sin, repentance, even a bit of flag waving conservatism, whats the harm with a bit of the good old Spanish Inquisition?
Are Christians so thin skinned a bit of ribbing is classed as mockery, or even Demonic Principles, and destroying the nation?
Come on. Get real!

In my experience, the more intolerant the opinion, the greater the insecurity of the person expressing it.

I'm pretty sure some here have seen the play "The Book of Mormon". We saw it several years back in Mineapolis. Ribald and irreverent scarcely begins to describe it. In the performance I saw people where either walking out in a huff or rolling in the aisles laughing. My wife and I were part of the latter crowd, and SHE takes her Christian beliefs very seriously. To be honest I cannot remember when I've laughed that loud or that long at anything.

The point? Simple. The LDS had every reason to be as miffed and insulted, given the content of the play, as any other religious group, had such things been leveled at THEIR particular denomination. But the Mormons were there laughing just as hard as the rest of us--and then handing out pamphets outside the door when we were leaving that said (in paraphrase) "The play was great--but would you like to learn the REAL truth?", along with a phone number and address. It was a totally adult, mature way of handling it, and I have no doubt that it earned the LDS church a lot of respect, and perhaps even some converts, that it would not have gotten, had they had a tantrum over the play instead.
