Do you have to have an account with Wells Fargo in order to buy Euros?

Go to AAA.com and you can order them online and delivered to you.
Check with your bank for details on your checking account. Our bank has a checking account where one of the perks is a no foreign transaction fee ATM cards. Minimum balance is higher but worth it. Also the bank may not have the Euros in house, but they usually can order them for you. That's how we got ours from our bank. Plus we used the ATM card at the Bank of Ireland with no problems or fees. We were in Ireland/N. Ireland last fall and I was told that AmEx wasn't accepted much. NOT TRUE! We were there for 3 weeks and used our "no foreign transaction" AmEx about 90% of the time. Used some cash for tour guide tips and a few small places and had to use our Visa card less than half dozen times. Just make sure you tell them to charge in Euros as the CC gives a much better exchange rate than the stores do. |

You'll pay a lot more if you buy the Euros in the US. I always get mine from an ATM when I arrive. You can get them in the airport. The best exchange rates at at Bank ATMs which are usually everywhere. Don't buy in USA; too expensive.

Just use your ATM card when you get to your destination. Use at a bank or airport. Avoid using on the street, if possible. It’s a very easy process.

I'm always pretty cautious about a debit card, I only use mine for cash from an ATM at my bank. Has anyone tried using a prepaid debit card at an Italian ATM to get Euro's?????

We were able to order Euros through Chase... it only took a day or two for them to come in. I have no idea if you need to be a customer for that, but I wouldn't see why whatever bank you use couldn't do the same.

I worked as an expat and would always get them at the airport ATM. I use to get $100 -$150 worth. Most places used Credit Cards so a lot of cash isn't needed.

Chase Bank will order Euros (pay in advance) and contact you within a few days to come pick them up. Exchange rate was acceptable. I used them for this service in late April. Also exchanged dollars for Norwegian krone.

Long time ago when wife and I played on courses requiring caddies, we always asked the pro for tipping advise, then added a few bob on top.

Just go to a bank or ATM and use your debit card to get euros when you arrive. We do it all the time. Just talk to your bank about how to notify them of your international travel countries/dates. It’s easiest and cheapest !

I have the opposite problem. I have Egyptian money that we found after we got home and no one will take it. AAA no longer does it and none of the banks will take it. It is around $100 so I hate to write it off.
