I agree with the OP. While there are a lot of folks who grumble about the mass suburbanization of the central Florida countryside, the net-net has been positive imo.

Funny, that we were all set to move into the bubble, but found a community where the Villages is literally over the fence on one side, and across the street on the other. We are not IN the Villages, but it was The Villages that attracted us to this part of the state. I have heard the accusations of outsiders “stealing” Villages amenities and using “your” golf cart paths and Squares. I just laugh it off.

Last week I removed some kind of large metal object from a bike path, because it looks like an accident waiting to happen.
Wildwood has some pretty extensive plans for improvement. Patience.

Cliff Fr, I agree with you wholeheartedly. The Villages community has affected the Lake, Marion and Sumter County economies greatly, while providing a fantasy-like experience for its residents. There is so much to be thankful for. It's a notable example of a win-in scenario.

Personally, I am thankful that it has brought many residents 64 years of age and older
to me as they search for answers regarding their Medicare insurance decisions.

I posted a response before reading the rest of the posts. My apologies to Laker14 for being too "quick" on my reaction to what I thought was a negative post.. I wasn't smart enough to see that he was using sarcasm. My bad.

So you're posting under multiple user names? I thought that was a definite "no-no"...

I don't agree with you. Jet look at the talk of the villages and you see what I mean .

not a problem. Sarcasm on the internet is easy to miss. It should probably be listed right next to politics and religion as things to avoid.
