Trash cans are abundant---I certainly don't understand!
Aren't you glad these slobs don't bring their dogs?! Popcorn and Poop!

Sadly it has been my experience that the dogs would be more polite than most men .
No dog has ever flipped me off here for slowing down at a Yellow light and stopping when a light turns Red !
I actually feel sorry for their no doubt long suffering wives .

You stop at red lights?.
Shame on you; it's Florida and no one stops for red lights.

I lived for a while in Northern New Jersey and quickly learned that one never slows for a Yellow light that you are expected to instead speed up because at least 3 cars will go through the Red Light ! This was back in about 1980 .

A couple of years later I was relocated to Buffalo NY . Not long after I arrived I was driving my boss to a mutual appointment to call on a customer . The light turned Yellow and quickly Red --- I hit the gas -- and he went NUTS on me --
" What are you doing " ? He shouted .
Well I can share that the driving habits of suburban NYC have more than migrated North as that is the current protocol in suburban Buffalo .
However when I arrived here I thought that since we are all or mostly retired that I could actually change those " norms " and obey the law .
Apparently I am very incorrect . Interestingly enough it seems more profound since about Oct. 1st .Gee wonder why that is ? !
When someone does give me the " Male Driver Salute " I enjoy getting in back of them to read where their auto is from --- dare I say the NorthEast "Mega-glopogis ". Metro NY , Metro Boston et al .
My only conclusion on such occasions is that they must be racing home as they have a pressing phone conference with " The White House " for input on domestic and world affairs !

Hmm, I was wondering when someone would take the opportunity to turn this into a "bash the Snowbirds theme."

I thought Jim did a pretty good job of leaving room for interpretation.

There is no question that throughout Florida, once snowbirds arrive, for whatever reason, there is a much more hurried atmosphere. Kind of a: I'm On Vacation and I have got to get all the fun in before I go home intensity. I observed this at Sarasota and even at "laid back" Crystal River.

A needless observation, and not backed up by facts.

My husband was in a roundabout today when a girl with a FL license plate stopped IN THE ROUNDABOUT to send a text.

Horrible drivers come from everywhere. (Also not backed up by facts.)

This is a forum. There are NO needless observations unless they are rude, crude and vilifying.

I admit that I am guilty of changing the subject . I apologize to any and all offended .
I should have initiated a separate Thread had I felt it really worth mentioning and if any are interested I am about to do so .

Observations sometimes come across as accusations when not backed up by facts. I call that rude.

I guess we could not possibly be talking about the same post.

I suspect that if you took a poll you would find those "facts" that you desire.

30% of my neighbors are snowbirds who are here off and on throughout the year and a popular topic of conversation at our impromptu steet meetings is the Common Perception by all that life in the winter in TV is less laid-back than at other times.
