I have lived in The Villages a bit over 4 years and go to Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing frequently. I have NOT seen drunks at either square. Both squares have Happy Hours that serve BIG double drinks but everyone seems to keep their drinking in control.

Yes, the tee shirt is "a drinking community with a golfing problem". Do not overthink a cute slogan to mean it is a community of drunks.

The only harm that is going to happen here is to the vendor. No one is going to buy from him if he has that kind of attitude towards Villagers. Personally whenever I have gone to Cooperstown, NY and seen the signs that said "Cooperstown - a drinking town with a baseball problem" it has made me laugh, not think that all the residents were alcoholics.
