Hi everyone,
My husband and I are moving to Marsh Bend next week and I was researching internet providers. Since the streets are new, some of the search results say there is no service there. Is this correct? or is it just not updated? Could someone from Marsh Bend offer some advice on internet providers? Thanks in advance. |

Call Spectrum also and simply give them your address.

Im going through the same thing. Spectrum will tell you they are not offering service in your area, but will come out and do a access survey to determine if its feasible to reach your property. I am still looking into that, as I have no interest in Comcast/Xfinity. Please post any further developments if you go in that direction!!

We are in a home in the neighborhood surrounded by the Lowlands golf course, near Cattail. We visit the Spectrum office on 301 periodically for updated info about service. The guys there say, “soon” only not yet.
We can wait, as we have little interest to use Comcast. |

We dropped Spectrum after the cost sky rocketed to over $200/month and have had Comcast for the last several months with no problems whatsoever and much cheaper with a 2 year guaranteed rate.

I have Comcast/Xfinity. I have the 220+ channel pack with 200MBps speed. It's only $126/month. I've had both CenturyLink and Xfinity and both have worked well for me. If you have Xfinity, you can use their app on all of your smart TV's in the home and you don't get charged for additional TV's.

I live in MB and have Comcast, the preferred provider, and they are the only cable company that carry The Villages TV and radio, Chanels 2 and 99. Love the voice remote too.

For those with Comcast, a few questions:
1. What is the non-discounted rate for Internet only, and for internet and basic cable? 2. For internet, interest in upload speeds at various times of the day. Out here in Oregon, the tech Comcast uses provides fast download speeds, but uploads are quite slow due to how the technology is implemented for neighborhoods. You can easily check your speeds by visiting URL "www dot speedtest dot net" with a Mac or Windows PC browser. If hardwired, performance should be better than the typical WiFi performance. For the URL above, substitute "." for "dot" and eliminate the spaces. Type that into your favorite browser. Thanks. |

No, he made a mistake, he meant over $200 for triple play. I have Spectrum triple play and my bill is $195.00 including taxes, surcharges, broadcast fees etc. and NO contract. Some neighborhoods below 44 have Spectrum and, as I understand it, it gets wired for service along with other utilities. Xfinity is the preferred vendor since they have an agreement with the Developer which goes back to the time when they were the only game in town. The Developer has opened access to Spectrum and Century Link south of 466A although I believe Century Link is moving away from wired services nationwide. It's a personal choice, some people love Comcast and others hate it. Very few will tell you that they made a bad decision when they chose their provider, your due diligence should be your guide, not our opinions.

Thank you for the updated info. That's inline with my expectations.
I have Frontier FiOS in Oregon, and the rates are comparable. The fiber delivered internet and TV is reliable, and faster than what I even need. Hoping the same with Spectrum once it's turned on in our neighborhood. Neighbor has Comcast, and he's already got billing issues. Internet and TV are fine, but he's not happy with the billing snafus. |

I get 250-300megs/20 megs solid with no variation day or night. As much as I have always despised ComCrap I am having no issues with them. Paying $126 for 220 TV pack and 250/20 internet and that includes $15 /mo for modem which I would not normally do but was the only way to avoid their 1TB/mo cap down here. I have 2 security cams that use 1TB++ alone so I needed their "no cap" service. which requires 250meg internet + their modem or else it was $50/mo EXTRA for no cap so it ended up cheaper this way. While Comcrap is the devil I had to sell my soul. Best Spectrum could offer here is 25meg DSL which rarely got me 10megs for the 9 days I tried it. They do have gig fiber in some areas but not here so Comcrap was my only option. Offers vary but I think it was around $65 for 150 meg internet but if you take some useless basic TV package you can get a better price. |
