We bought the city furniture brand mattresses (Kevin Charles?) with slim box springs so the beds are lower and easier to get in/out of and they are very comfortable. Several firmness/padding levels available at different price points and you can try them in store. I purchased a Nectar foam mattress on Amazon for my daughter who has back issues after doing extensive research and she loves it. The downside of switching from traditional innerspring mattress to foam is that you won’t sleep well at hotels etc any longer once you get used to foam every night.

We were die hard Serra sleeper top of the line people till we slept on a Zinus memory foam mattress. It’s heaven on a frame.

Go to The Original Mattress Factory on 441. Good mattress and box springs for a good price. We love ours!
