Seems ridiculous. Gas commuting will be more than wages earned. Gators is best tv opt

They held a hiring event on Saturday in Clermont, which makes no sense to me if you want to hire people to work in The Villages.
It’s not rocket science, The first hiring event didn’t meet their goal. So as a business you look for employees where you can find them. A waitress we know drives from Ocala, so her kids can get an education here. Education is important to many parents

I would guess that these days you get people wherever you can find them and hope they stay.

And I think a lot of people would be surprised to learn how far a lot of the workers at the various locations in and around The Villages commute to work.

Is it beginning to make more sense?

Learned that one after we had our Florida room put in they gave us a window washing. Lady doing it commuted every day from New Smyrna over an hour away.

Asked her where old Smyrna was and she had no idea. Must be an old one somewhere.

It only confirms they don’t grow the brightest in Florida, it’s a 78 mile drive.

We had a young waitress at Toojays in Lake Sumter Landing who commutes from Tampa. That was when gas was cheaper but that’s a hell of a commute
