Default Motorcycle engine in Golf Cart

Has anyone install a larger engine in their golf cart? I have some extra time & money and am exploring the idea of customizing an older cart with air bags and a motorcycle engine...Thank you in advance...

Let me know if you do it.
Would love to see the look on car driver faces when you fly past!
Definitely would install seat belts and roll bars!

He has a road legal garden shed. It goes at over 100MPH!

Default Can be done

Its cooling it that is the issue. Most are air cooled, water cooling would be a solution as the engine sits enclosed and will get very hot.

The result of your experiment will be a Low Speed Vehicle, and subject to all of the rules and regulations, so you will have IMHO a couple of thousand dollars in other upgrades as well as insurance cost similar to a car.

My neighbor did that years ago. It was very noisy. And I went to a movie Watchmen (2009) - Rotten Tomatoes with him as his wife has very different taste in movies than us two and had to hang onto the side whenever he took a turn. I only went to one movie with him but would sometimes see him in the action movie audiences here in the Villages with a guy or alone. The golf cart went way too fast for me.

How about shifting? I don't think it's a good idea. It's only going to bring heartache and trouble!

I've always wondered if there was an underground golf cart racing circuit here in The Villages. Lots of retired motorheads with time on their hands, knowing that the cart can be tweaked to get a few more MPH out of it. Meeting after everyone is asleep (9 PM?) on some remote golf course fairway and drag racing for pink slips, Titleist pro v1x balls, and little blue pills.

I always wondered how my cart would run if I dropped the engine out of my Goldwing into it...

I was thinking of doing it but don't know what I would do with the jet engine and after burners that I have in it now. And what about all the JP4 that I store in my garage? Oh and don't forget the JATO bottles too.

Oh corse I thought of it! Would have to reinforce the chassis and change out the rear end. Was thinking a water cooled 250-350cc engine, or a one of those supped up go cart engines. Lots on structural work but would be awesome to do burn outs!!
