We did nothing of the sort when we moved into our home. Not sure if we avoided something we should have done but we notified no one.

We own the home - things might be different for a rental

I'm pretty sure you have to show insurance before or at closing. Are you asking if you have to show the moving company that you have insurance?

This thread is confusing. If you are renting, the lease may require you to have insurance. If, you are buying with a mortgage, the bank may require you to have homeowners insurance. But, I don't know why a moving company would require you to have insurance.

Noone ever told us we needed to tell anyone so moving company showed up and unloaded last year

No, we are owners and we have homeowners insurance.

Our mover asked if THEY need to provide proof of insurance on TV property.

I know they need to show it when moving into a condo, but I wasn't sure about TV...

I didn't think they would, but I figured it would hurt to ask here... As y'all know everything...

I'm pretty sure that they don't. When you move into a condo, they are using common area private property. But when you move into a house in The Villages, they are using a county owned road and your own personal property. So, it is really not Villages property.

When we became "frogs" (here until we croak ) and moved all our stuff, the moving company asked the same and if any restrictions. So I called (sorry don't remember who) The Villages and was told no restrictions except no "pod" type containers.

Interesting, I’ve seen quite a few pods in the Marsh Bend and DeLuna areas over the last year and have been planning to use one myself at some point. Folks have been good about getting them emptied and removed quickly and they didn’t seem to create any issues.

The people who owned my home before I bought it a year ago had a couple PODS in the driveway for a week or two after closing, with my permission. No problem. they were downsizing to another home in The Villages.

I've been told by neighbors that it's OK until someone complains then The Villages take action. There have been threads on this site where after moving in, someone complained/reported about removing all the grass replacing with rocks in a patio villa and The Villages made them change it back. I personally know of someone this happened to.

If ya feel lucky, do it but be very friendly to all your neighbors present and future. Or call to verify.
