We'll be moving in most of out furniture in the next few weeks. Do we have to get approval or show a Certificate of Insurance prior to our move in?
Thanks in advance... |

I'm pretty sure you have to show insurance before or at closing. Are you asking if you have to show the moving company that you have insurance?

This thread is confusing. If you are renting, the lease may require you to have insurance. If, you are buying with a mortgage, the bank may require you to have homeowners insurance. But, I don't know why a moving company would require you to have insurance.

No, we are owners and we have homeowners insurance.
Our mover asked if THEY need to provide proof of insurance on TV property. I know they need to show it when moving into a condo, but I wasn't sure about TV... I didn't think they would, but I figured it would hurt to ask here... As y'all know everything... ![]() |

When we became "frogs" (here until we croak ) and moved all our stuff, the moving company asked the same and if any restrictions. So I called (sorry don't remember who) The Villages and was told no restrictions except no "pod" type containers.

Interesting, I’ve seen quite a few pods in the Marsh Bend and DeLuna areas over the last year and have been planning to use one myself at some point. Folks have been good about getting them emptied and removed quickly and they didn’t seem to create any issues.

The people who owned my home before I bought it a year ago had a couple PODS in the driveway for a week or two after closing, with my permission. No problem. they were downsizing to another home in The Villages.

Agree. The moving co is the one who should have insurance
