Contact Rita Canty with Brightway Insurance out of Jacksonville - (904)646-1850

They represent a vast majority of the insurance companies what write HO insurance in FL. I'm sure they'll be able to help you.

I tried to get it with my home owners insurance and was denied. I will call the ins of TV, but I think if this is an area where there are a lot of sink holes, then it is a good idea.

What should be added here is sinkhole insurance on re-sales is more difficult to obtain than new builds

Default Confused About Sinkhole/Home Owners Insurance

Found a house in The Villages that caught our attention. Got about to crunching the numbers. When it came to home owners insurance, I asked my bank, the people who would be carrying my mortgage about home owners insurance premiums. The bank, USAA ,told me that because of coastal storms, they no longer write policies in Florida, but they have affiliates that might. Their affiliate took the information that I provided and then informed me that because of "two recent massive" sinkholes in The Villages, they too have ceased writing policies there.
Is this an emerging problem? Where might someone go to get full coverage at a fair price in TV?

When we signed for our new home in June (about the 20th), the agency in TV got us sinkhole ins. It was not very pricey, and we took it.

Just remember...even if you get sinkhole insurance coverage for the current year...there is no guarantee sinkhole coverage will be available upon renewal...and if it is, will it be at the same rate or deductible. What is happening to most policies that have sinkhole coverage is the deductible for sinkhole coverage is being raise to 10% of home value...and that translates to $30,000 out of pocket for a home insured at $300,000. Hurricane wind damage is only 2% for most policies!!!
