Default Multi Family Homes

Hello. Does anyone know if there are multi family homes in The Villages (new or resale)? By multi family I mean a home built with a separate area that is a suite for a child (age 30-50) of the homeowner. Also I'm thinking if your child lives with you, they should have a separate entrance and a kitchenette (just a microwave, refrigerator and sink).
Thank you - MarvinH

No, they are all single-family homes. The Villages was not built to accommodate adult family members other than spouses living in the same dwelling. That was intentional. There are no "in-law apartments" in the Villages. If an adult family member wants his own entrance, he should buy his own house.

Why on earth would adult kids want to live with their parents? They need to be with people their own age in a younger environment. We miss our kids but sure as heck don't want to live with them.

have never heard of any 'in-law apartments...other than folks with large designer homes designating the opposite side of the house as a 'suite' for a single parent with a private bedroom, sitting area and private bath for a seasonal live in situation

they share the same entry ways

I believe I have seen homes offered with an in-law apartment, they are very rare and if my memory serves me, they are in the older section of TV. I actually do know three widows who had a premiere home built to accommodate their needs. Beats being alone and lonely. My recommendation would be to talk to someone in the sales department to get the correct answer.

As for having an adult child living with you here, I have no problem with it. If I had a child who was single and wanted to live in TV I would enjoy their company. What is the difference in having an adult child living with you here as compared to up North? My sister and I had always planned to do away with our husbands and live together ..........

I knew there was a reason there were so many widows around here.

Exactly. This is suppose to be 55 and older. Not for kids or extended family. Only 1 or 2 people should be living in a home..but this isn’t so....from what I hear!

Because this is “suppose” to be 55 and older development. Not for everyone so I thought!

Hey Marv, I've got just the one for you! Hand in the glove, a perfect fit. They are a few here and there. Mine is a legal two-family on the Historic Side. It will be for sale after the first of the year.

Need to read up on laws in 55 and older communities. It’s been discussed multiple times

There are homes in TV with mother-in-law suites or separate living quarters.
There are several in our village. All were remodels to existing homes/models. As long as they are approved in the remodel architectural review there is no restriction.

Looks like you can build what you want on horse farm if you can afford 1/2 million or so lot?

No, if you got money You can you can buy here and have in you’re house who you want. Nobody check on it. And even when they do or news outlet exposed it nothing done.
