In almost 8 years with a home in the Villages there have been only three bands we would go out of our way to listen to. He Said, She Said, Hooligans, and the Caribbean Chillers. Hooligans is the only remaining band in the rotation and they now play very infrequently, and I can’t remember the last time they played in Spanish Springs. Why in the world Scooter the DJ and an increasing number of bands playing disco keep showing up in the rotation is beyond me? There are some bands with excellent musicians playing the instruments, but the singing quality is a buzz kill. Need more bands like the Hooligans.

On the other hand (I have many hands) - I could totally go for some old-time traditional Black Gospel music. The kind that gets people up on their feet to shout Hallelujah and dance ("make a joyful noise unto the Lord" kinda stuff). And even Klezmer music (Jewish, not always biblical but it's its own style of music). I also have an extremist eclectic side, and can see a crowd of people sitting silently, drinking wine, while a group of monks perform acapella Latin chants.

I agree. Disco died many years ago and should remain that way.

We were told the Hooligans have a permanent gig at Disney World. That's why you don't see them very much in TV.

I like metal, and they don't play it here. Not sure what your definition of metal is.

Hello my friend - there are lots of us who grew up and attended high school in the late 70s and love disco- rings back great memories of our youth. Music taste is so subjective.

We have not listened to music at the Squares for years. It is much too loud for us.

We do like the music at Edna's, especially when Jersey Frank, Joe hand, or Dale Stumbo is singing. According to the Daily Sun, I think there are a number of places that have normal music.

Playlists are repetitive. Sequencing of music rarely change. Novelty wears off.

Lmao. I always say, if I hear mustang sally ever again it will be too soon.

I get tired of all the overplayed old music. But thats just me. I don't spend a lot of time yearning for the good old days. I like to look out the windshield, not the rearview mirror.

Lets get some bands that play music from 1990 to the present.

Heard Mustang Sally from yet another band tonight at the square - Question - do we have at least one band that plays at the square, who does not have Mustang Sally in their repertoire?
