Music AND TRAINS AND WHAT VILLAGE TO PICK
I just spent an about 35 min reading all the posts about the loud music, the trains and where not to live in TV. I think the guy who has the issue with "loud music" might want to rethink it. TV is not a retirement community in the true sense of the word. If it was, most of the resident's would not be here. It is a medium sized city of about 65,000 people who are enjoying a vast array of terrific possibilities to enhance one's life. Music is one of them. It is wonderful to have it and shows what a vibrant place TV is. If the music is ever regulated, stopped etc., it would be a very sad day in TV.
About the trains etc.,......it is sad to think that any real estate agent, would not disclose this. That realtor should be looking for a job in another area, not TV. I think I would have gone in person, to the director of sales, and sat one on one with him/her and had a real "Come To Jesus Meeting". Then the same meeting at the Administration office with the owner or owner's rep. Last point is this: we are now in the process of renting a villa fora year to see if this community is for us. To "try it on if you will" I would love feedback on the various Villages and what you think. For example, I have heard that it is really "cool" on the east side, the historic side. Other's have said..."do not buy or even rent there" that's one example. We would love to be "close in" and think the villa community of Chula Vista looks really fine....would love to hear from any resident's of this area. and also from Hacienda which is across the street right on the Delmar gate. Also what are your opinion's concerning both Town Square's. Sumter vs. Spanish Springs. Better to be close in to which one? I would rather be walking distance to one of these, not in the middle. But then we must pick one and I am sure, there are opinion's out there as to which one might be more desireable and why. Thanks to all for sharing your opinion's Look forward to your response. Thankyou.....Carl |

Re: Music AND TRAINS AND WHAT VILLAGE TO PICK
If I had to do it over again, I would definately rent for at least 1 yr. (maybe even 2) I don't know where you've previously lived, but you should ck. out all areas of the TV, because of major differences here between the older sections and newer ones where alot of newly retired people in their 50's & 60's have bought. The older section you'll find alot of people in their late 70's & 80's that bought there when TV first built a long time ago. As far as Realtors not disclosing any negative info,(ie;railroads, etc.) they can be sued for that or even lose their licenses. A buyer can force the real estate co. to return their deposit because of it.Good Luck, and I hope you'll be happy here

Re: Music AND TRAINS AND WHAT VILLAGE TO PICK
We knew we wanted a resale, and we wanted to be in the area close to the Lifetime Learning College and the Villages Library and at the same time south of CR-466. As a result, we looked largely in a five-town area: Belvedere (where we ended up buying), Ashland, Tall Trees, Bonnybrook, and Lynnhaven. We're also partial to villages that have more than one way in and out--just a personal preference that may not mean a thing to anyone else.

P.S. We do hear the trains in the distance but that's not an issue for us.

Re: Music AND TRAINS AND WHAT VILLAGE TO PICK
We just bought a new villa in Hemmingway and are well pleased with the location.
3 miles to Lake Sumter and maybe that too Brownwood when it's built (10 minutes via golf cart) and merely a mile to the Publix center. We prefer Lake Sumter over Spanish Springs, we also have fairly easy access to get to the main highways (ie: turnpike) via 466a & 301. South of 466 is newer, wider, better golf cart paths, etc. (though north and historic areas are also exceptionally clean and resort feel). If going to Spanish Springs, it'd be a long cart ride or maybe take the car, not a big deal to us. It's just personal preference, but we like where we bought. Good luck. |

Re: Music AND TRAINS AND WHAT VILLAGE TO PICK
Too many decisions! I think I'll just throw a dart at the map and wherever it lands (unless it's right by the train), will be our village.

Re: Music AND TRAINS AND WHAT VILLAGE TO PICK
We have lived here for 3 years. My inlaws are coming next weekend to look at housing. Areas I will direct them away from are:
Northwest : Train noise Areas around the sewer treatment areas : Bogart/Bacall areas ; and several others Areas with Pickleball courts too close (morning noise) Areas too close to the high school : lights and noise Areas too close to town squares : Nightly music noise Areas with high tention wires in back yard If you are looking at golf course front, be wary of golf ball hits on home I intentionally did not mention any village so as not to offend anyone / jeffy |
