Loud Pipes Lose Rights.[/QUOTE
I always thought that if loud pipes save lives, then all car and truck horns would be placed on the rear bumper.

One reason. I don't want to be associated with the knuckleheads who think increasing the volume of noise they can produce, makes them "cool".

Harley Davison: the most efficient machine for turning petrol into noise without all that nasty horse power byproduct.

I found and installed a little black box on my electric cart to make it sound like a gas cart. Reminds me of George Jetsons car!

I'm kidding

My electric cart actually has what Evolution calls a “Growler”. You can turn it on when there’s pedestrian or other traffic where you want to be sure they hear you for safety reasons.

I've heard there was someone who hasn't disconnected the "growler", now we know who!

At my age, I like a quiet ride, especially on a long drive

I had to laugh at that one, you obviously know motorcycles.

When the Twinkie 88 came out, I think that "monster" was putting out about 52 hp.

My Suzuki SV 650 was putting out over 60.

My FLSTS sounded way more powerful, which I guess is the answer to my original question. Some folks want to "sound" more powerful, others are satisfied to "be" more powerful.

I've had a bunch of bikes though the years, my first was a hd dirt bike (really an Italian bike, Aermacchi) and a couple of flh/flhs w/sidecar. I came to my senses and spent the balance of my time on Japanese, British, German or Austrian bikes. I've given up bikes and speed for the most part but it was fun when I was in it. I think at 1 time I had about 40 bikes/ATVs/sbs.... Nuts, I know.

Exclamation

Steelpak mufflers will give you the deep tone you are looking for, glasspak, not so much.
