You just need someone who can screw and unscrew hinges and hang the replacement. |

I would suggest a firm like Docs Restorations. The typical hallway is going to be wider than the typical door and therefore framing would be involved as well as some drywall and matching wall finish. Then you will need the door frame and the door. Now depending on what you are after, there may be other options, a simple curtain with a pressure rod will provide privacy, an accordion door could be installed wall to wall possibly without the need for framing.

A similar option might be a barn door.

It sound like you want a door to the bathroom from the hallway. Any decent carpenter should be able to do it.
Most bathrooms off a hallway are probably pocket doors. It is hard to imagine a home that has a bathroom with no door. Even in a main bedroom the main bath always (?) has a door. Bathrooms off a hallway are generally small - aka powder rooms, or half-bath - only toilet and a vanity. They usually won't have room for a door to swing inward. Do you want a swinging door? Is there room for one? Which side would be hinged? Swinging into bathroom or into hall? With pocket doors, you need to look at the location of plumbing and electric. Are there any long nails, screws or lag bolts in the wall on either side of the wall? Photo of blueprint? |
