I also was totally confused by the thread "Urgent message....." cited above. Unfortunately, IMHO at least , Silvertoken was not gifted with the ability to communicate in a clear and logical manner. As a result many responding posters totally misinterpreted the point that was intended regarding dog excrement, a toddler's exposure to it, and possible solutions to the situation.
Because of the confusion and frustration, uncomplementary comments were made, some directed at the OP.
Silvertoken, your heart is in the right place. But please proof read your comments before posting them to make sure they make sense and are at least somewhat comprehensible.

Times have changed and there are many nasty individuals out there with a goal to hurt others. You will see these individuals over and over sharing nothing but insult and thinking to themselves how clever they are. The best advice to TOTV is try and help others by having an ignore button option for this site. I use kitco.com blog and it works great.
I haven't figured out how this original post turned into what it did.....but anyhow.....chastising a public forum like TOTV for the actions of a very few is not really fair to the other 98% of us who do it right.

Yes there is an ignore button, but people would rather read what they don't like and then complain....about what they don't like.

In the old days when there was a political forum one had to opt in to get into that forum. STILL folks who didn't like what they saw there would opt in to go where they did not like to go to read what they did not like to see.
And then complain about what they saw. And we all know how that turned out.

TOTV is one of the most civil forums I have ever participated in.....and many of us in the 98% have learned to either not go where one doesn't like or to ignore those few that bug us. Like it or not they have the same freedoms as the rest of us....

My 2 cents in defense of the majority....AGAIN... that does it the right way.

Just my 2 cents worth -
When I joined in July, 2012 I was looking for information and I got it.
As I became more "active" I found posts that I either agreed or disagreed with. Some I commented on - some I did not.

If a topic or a post makes my blood boil 9 times out of 10 I will just move on. Everyone has an opinion and I am, in all likelihood, not going to change it. So, I felt I could try and possibly end up getting both aggravated and cynical or move on. Move on is what I chose regarding certain topics and/or arguments.

I come on here not looking for fights but as someone who wants information and good discussion.
MOST people are courteous and cordial.

It is easy to "fight" without being face-to-face.

I would agree that 98 % post very well on TOTV, but I would not be so presumptuous to declare myself in that group. I hope and think I am in the 98%,but I will let other members make that determination for themselves. I opine, you decide.
