Default Nearly run over by passing golf cart

Yikes golf cart drivers are stupid! We were walking on the left for on coming cart traffic on the path between Everglades and the Water Lilly bridge, and an Atomic cart was passing another cart with a 1 mph differential maybe, from behind and no beep, and nearly took out my arm. Heard a cart but never expected two abreast from behind.

“Can’t slow down for a walker in case of a stumble, ‘cause i would lose all that time/distance of trying to pass that slower cart!”

Welcome to Snowbird Season!

Maybe not. I've encountered boneheaded cart jockeys around here in July as well as in January.

Happens all over the villages MMP's. The majority running late for their tee time or had a little sauce on the way, or a combination of both. You'll observe most arriving to the starter shacks flying into the parking areas nearly running into people.

Not all golf cart drivers are stupid but the stupid ones exist and really stand out.

I STILL haven't gotten the knack of picking out snowbirds from your average, everyday stupid person.

I was run off the road in June by a corner-cutting golf cart (clubs on back) while cycling on the MMP alongside El Camino Real

trying to pass another cart when the speed differential is insignificant is a sure sign.
White hair from the North, matching the snow
Asking for directions because the Villages GPS app is confusing
Driving a golf cart on an MMP like you drive a car. . . because golf courses don't have lanes like cars drive on.
talking to the cashiers like they care about us and our stories about children and grandchildren.. . .
parking in handicap spots because well, the parking lot is crowded. . .

. . . . .

my species is near the end of its existence. .

When I see those behaviors in July is it a snowbird visiting out of season?

The same type of situation happened to me and that's why I sold my bicycle.

And August through November. Every bank teller, waitstaff, cashier deserves a raise for having to listen that extra 10 plus minutes of that person’s life.

To the 10 people behind them, a extra bonus for patiently waiting, and not run out of the store screaming into the night.

In November a lady in front of us felt the need to give us a dissertation on her medical problems. I felt bad but a minute in, I used sign language, to startle her into reality. It worked she huffed and turned to the person in front of her. Apologies to that person.

You were lucky to survive. I suggest you never ever never walk on a MMP because the MMPs are much too dangerous for pedestrians and bikers.

Quick to make assumptions, I see. Did it never occur to you that maybe they were aiming at you, and missed?
