Default Need Advice on Dismantling a Motorized Loveseat

I have a situation that I hope someone can help me with. A couple of days ago, my husband was sitting on our electric-motor reclining loveseat. The arthritis in his hand was bothering him and he took off his wedding band. Well, he dropped the ring between the cushions and it’s stuck somewhere in the guts of the loveseat. We’ve done everything we’re capable of doing and still can’t find the ring. We fully reclined it and crawled as far under it as we could and searched. We flipped it over and got as far into it as we could. I thought of using a metal detector, but the whole frame of the piece is metal.
I called Family Furniture in Leesburg, where we purchased it and asked if we could request a service call and have their technician come and dismantle the piece in order to find it. We had service on the loveseat once before from them for another issue and the tech was able to completely pull apart most of the piece and put it all together. The manager said that that wasn’t something that would fall under “service” so they couldn’t help us. We do not have the expertise to completely dismantle the loveseat ourselves.
My husband is just beside himself about losing his wedding band. He’s worn it for 46 years and has never gone a day without it, even when in the hospital.
Does anyone know of a furniture technician that could help us? Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I will be glad to help, I will send you a PM with my phone number, I should be able to get it without completely dismantling the loveseat.

I have one of those loveseats and I have lost several things that just seem to disappear. I would start by pulling the entire loveseat out from the wall. The only part that comes off is the back section of each seat. But, there are fabric pockets that can be separated or accessed with your hands to feel for the ring. The ring is probably stuck between two pieces of fabric.

Babettes has a guy named Bruce who knows everything there is to know about recliners. If you can get him to come out, Bruce will find the ring.

Default Thank you Village Tinker!!

A huge shout out and THANK YOU to VillageTinker for finding my husband's wedding ring that was accidentally dropped into our motorized loveseat. It wasn't an easy task, but he was persistent and was finally successful in finding the ring. I can't thank you enough for responding to my request. Thank you!

I forgot to say, "you can now kiss the bride" when I found the ring.

Seriously, it was a pleasure helping you.

Village Tinker~

Ditto, you're a wonderful friend to have both in cyber space and Likewise, in the real world!

So, tell us, where was the ring? Upright in a tract?

My husband tells me that he finds M&M's under there, as well as under my car seat all the time. Guilty.
