Default Need Lawn Service with Walk behind Mowers

After several years our service is no longer servicing Bonita Village We (myself and three additional neighbors) are looking for a lawn service with walk behind mowers. We need the smaller mowers because of narrow passages and clay soil that is subject to lawn depressions after a heavy rain. Our previous service just gave us notice today after over seven years of loyalty . Thank you in advance

This has come up several times. In high school, MANY YEARS AGO, the economy was slow, there were few jobs, so I started and ran my own lawn mowing and snow shoveling business. It was an adventure dealing with people. Aside, if anyone is thinking about mowing and snow shoveling. No demand for snow shoveling around here-supposed to be funny.
It is a tough way to make a living. People want to hire someone because they do not want to do it. The riding mowers. Few of the people will use walk behind mowers.
Most lawns are small. People, since they do not need to deal with it give no thought about easy maintenance or how a mower can pass through. In terms of the riding mowers.
I expect like most things. The mower people, my mower is bigger than your mower.
You walk behind? So non-professional.
No prof mower can not mow lawns, before, after or during the rain.
We always pay the people on time. Remembering when I used to do it so many years ago, if we see them we give them a cold soda. In nine years we are on our fourth lawn mowing person. First guy got tired of doing it but got us a replacement. The replacement guy was better than the first. Personal issues I suspect, he just abandoned us and as we paid at the start of every month we had paid for 3-4 weeks not earned.
We found another person, we liked him. His work was not as good as the one he replaced-we did not complain. If he left clods of grass, no big deal I raked them up and said nothing. We are now on our fourth person another nice guy-work-the worst so far but so far he is coming.
Moral- I am far older than I was in high school. One more time and I think I will start mowing MY LAWN again.
Perhaps, time to start doing your own. Mentioned neighbors-beware of neighbors who suggest while you are doing yours could you do mine as well. You may quickly find you are too old for high school but you are in the lawn mowing business with tons of non paying customers.

The problem is that I am up North 3 months a year. It wouldn't be fair to use the landscaper during the peak growing season.

Bowles Services has been doing ours and probably 5 or 6 neighbors with push mower for a couple years. Not sure if their area is limited to ???? or if they are taking on new customers. bowlesservices.com

The first company we hired for push mower service sneakily switched over to rider mowing after 2nd month. These guys have been good for years.

We use Chad's and they are good.

Do not know if they or anyone else is still using non high speed mowers. Suspect that if anyone is out there using these type of mowers, cost will be at least 50% higher.
