Default Neighborhood pool rules

Can you bring food and beverages into the deck area of neighborhood pools? I would have assumed that since they are 30+ you could bring alcohol as well?

Russ,

Yes, yes, and yes.....

Food an beverage can be brought in....I believe the sign says to keep them at least 12 feet from the pool itself which is fine. No glass bottles of course and yes adult spirits are ok.

There's a group that meets at our local adult pool every Friday evening for a neighborhood happy hour.

This brings a thought to my mind. What time does the rec center close? If you had company and wanted to swim and socialize early evening, is this possible?

CJ,

the Rec Center (Family) and adult pools close at dusk (basically 30 mins after sunset)....so, the times vary based on the time of the year.

I believe there are a couple of country club pools (you have to have priority membership to use) and some of the pools in Lake County part of the Villages (Chula Vista?) that stay open later.

Thanks for input. Guess I don't understand how we own these centers and cannot use them when we want. We have been staying in Isle de Sol in St. Pete's Beach and they use their pools, hot tubs, ect. in the evenings. Nice to plan on that if you work during the day.
Oh, well.

Default Pool Hours

Pool hours have to do with state regulations. None of the pools are set up to be open after dusk by current regulations. The ones that stay open late (in Lake County) were "grandfathered in" when the regulations were changed. A while back the Villages Recreation Dept. (read John Rohan) wanted to close the late night pools at dusk also and make all pool hours "uniform". There was an outcry from the people who enjoy a late night dip (skinny or otherwise)!

Smile Parties

We have regular parties at our neighborhood pool, and local rec centers. We bring our own drinks and food. When it gets dark at the pool, we clean up and the rec center locks the pool. Anyone swimming-we invite them! Very friendly group.
We also reserve a room at the Bridgeport rec cener once a month for our ladies get together(our street) and once a month at night at Pimlico for everyone on the street for couples. These are free...you just need to reserve the room and live on our street. You can bring invited guests.
I love to party and these get togethers are great. !!! We take turns organizing. Party on....
