Default Rocket launch in One Hour

The weather was not looking good for viewing the launch but as it has cleared somewhat I thought I'd post the information. At 5:46 PM with a potential for delay of up until 6:30 PM (44 minute window) there is a scheduled launch from Kennedy Space Center of an Atlas V with a military communication satellite. Details at :::: United Launch Alliance, LLC ::::

From that link you can also watch a webcast of the launch and commentary beginning at 5:26, twenty minutes before take-off.

Now, to see it in person, just look EAST, away from the sunset. You should expect to see a vertical "cloud" going upward from the horizon. We are too far to hear anything. If there are a lot of clouds on the horizon it will be hidden. Good luck and enjoy

Currently launch at T -4 minutes and holding.

This is great!

Got to run outside and look to see what the East sky looks like.

When its launched I'll go outside and try to look at it.

East sky has low haze - should be able to see the rocket ok. The previous ones I have seen appear to curve up to the Northeast.

Now earliest launch now is 6:16

has to launch before 6:29

Earliest launch now at 6:29 - the latest possible time.

Doesn't look good - too windy up high.

I recall when the words "Rocket Launch" meant Roger Clemens was entering the game.
