Default Let the Exodus Begin

Finally Snowbirds are leaving us. We’ll be able to dine out more, enjoy walk-on golf and all-in-all enjoy more elbow room in the Villages. Hurry Winter Break Villager wanna bees, your Easter ham is calling you!!!

There will be a time of rest and healing with less destruction by those who don’t pay amenity fees or have responsibilities to keep our area nice. The damage was significant in some areas this year. We didn’t just have DOACU (dog owners against clean up) or golf carts navigating against traffic in road traffic circles, but high ticket items too. Sawgrass tapped into funds to re-landscape because of the lazy ones.

Adios, don’t let the door hit you in the rear…

Now we get our “Easter Break”

Yep. Now only the folks who can't afford multiple homes will be left and they'll be less competition for seats for the Early Bird Special at Perkins & Bob Evans.

Default Rest

Or those who just want to enjoy their peace and quiet with their occasional shuffleboard, fine dining and cruises with friends all the while with little care.

Or saddest post of the year. To choose to send this out on Easter Sunday is very strange, hardly NORMAL.

I love my snowbird friends and the joy they bring when they escape their cold winter residences to come to Florida. Yes, it's busy, but we seem to make it work. I also enjoy the quieter times when they head back up north.

What a nasty rude post against snowbirds. It is truly offensive and uncalled for and full of lies. Lies such as we snowbirds don't pay amenity fees - we do pay them year round even though we are not here year round. Blaming snowbirds for significant damage, reckless driving, destruction and more is uncalled for and encourages hate and division among the residents of TV. This original post should be removed.

Went to Too J’s Tuesday, at prime time. Three tables occupied, 3 weeks ago every table occupied and those waiting were out the door.

Yep watch those business cut staff, because of lack of clientele.

OP joins in June of 2021, many of us have experienced high season for more than 10-20 plus years, and yet we see how snowflakes, snowbirds, and seasonal owners keep TV vibrant and business busy. You seem to forget snowflakes snowbirds, and seasonal owners all own homes here they just choose to own more than one home, and like us have the freedom to come and go as we please

OP is celebrating, loss of revenue and income for many. That’s just sad.

Sure, let's have the snowbirds not come here or other places in Florida like The Villages so that Florida will need to institute a state income tax, property taxes will increase (due to reduced rental properties), amenity fees will soar and businesses will close.

Couldn’t agree more with all of your post. Happy Easter.

The busy season is exciting because - it's busy. Love seeing the crowds, the festivals, meeting folks from all over whose faces aren't familiar.

The busy season is also frustrating because there are more accidents, more drunks, more crime, more "lack of care" to properties, more waiting in line.

The quiet season is exciting because it means less risk to run around doing all the stuff I love to do.

The quiet season is also frustrating because I miss some of the people I see during the busy season who add some pizzazz to my otherwise routine week.

There is crime when the snowbirds are here, and there is crime when they're away. There are lousy full-time Villager drivers, there are nasty full-time Villager dog-walkers, there are hideous and insipid full-time Villager political extremists. The only reason you see more during snowbird season is because there are more PEOPLE here during snowbird season. When those people go home for the summer, the crime doesn't cease. It's merely reduced.

This continuing snow bird bashing is really getting old. (Long FULL TIME resident.)
Let it go!

In meantime our neighborhood becomes a ghost town. Bet over 50% leave. Be careful what you wish for. In wintertime have had very few long waits. How many people need to go to dinner at 5-5:30?

Lucky to be leaving soon for the moderate temperatures and beautiful foliage of the north country. Could not stand to be down here for the next six months. Snowbird living rules!
