It would be great to have Wegman's, but low pricing has never been a strategy of theirs.

Walmart Neighborhood stores are really just grocery stores. No automotive, no furniture, no sporting goods, no lawn and garden, no clothing. They are smaller and usually have a nice frontage on them. There are a couple of them in and around Orlando.

Just to clarify ... they are talking Walmart Supermarket w/Pharmacy ONLY. Not the kind of Walmart on 466 or 441. That is my understanding. These are popular in the St. Pete and surrounding areas.

Walmart Neighborhood Markets are not full department stores with a grocery section. They are more like or try to be more like a Fresh Market venue.....I know, I know they are not Fresh Market.....

Reading previous posts about complaints of crowding at the Colony Publix, I would tend to think another supermarket in this area, would give people another choice to shop.

There is a pecking order for being upscale but I find that except for a few items, Walmart is a good place to shop. The prices are definitely lower.

Sale is a word that means, "I am going to rip you off for less than what I normally charge you for an item". IMHO

I would think any market down around colony would be a welcomed one.

Talbots is great. Way too many open spaces in brownwood and this is a good start. Not overly excited about Izod and Van Husen, but it will be nice to have them occupy empty spaces. I hope they all do a booming business and more stores will want to follow.

Went to a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Arlington TX recently. Nicely laid out and small enough to zip around. Surprisingly not Walmart like.

We were loyal Walmart shoppers in Utah. There were Walmart Stores (most were super stores) located about every 3 miles. The stores were clean, well organized and a pleasure in which to shop.

Here, based on the low income of the general area around The Villages, you see that reflected in the stores here. Friends of ours said
"Walmarts in Utah = Bloomgdales; Walmarts in Florida = Prision grounds". Now I certainly wouldn't make that observation, but there is a vast difference in the management of the stores here and in Utah......and not a good difference! You se that reflected in the clientele from outside the bubble.

The Walmart Neighborhood Market is simply a Grocery store/Pharmacy. With the overcrowding at Colony it will be a nice relief to shop across the street from that chaos at Colony parking situation. And Walmart Neighborhood Markets have rock bottom prices compared to Publix.

I wonder if this is not like the same concept of a Publix mini mart, in Ft. Lauderdale. There is one which has some items slightly down the street from my son's house and a full scale supermarket, a couple of blocks away.

Should be a welcomed addition to TV.

This is not a traditional Wal-Mart. It was stated that it was a Neighborhood Market, which is mostly groceries. We had one in West Hartford CT and it was closed recently, but I loved it. Great prices and the people were great.
