Default New Seacoast Debit Card

I have ny Seacoast debit card in my Apple Wallet. It works in stores, but not in atm’s.
I don’t want to carry another card so atm access would be a plus.
Anyone else?

Apple Wallet is supposed to work with ATMs if the ATM supports it.

You might try carrying the Seacoast Debit card just once to see if it works when Apple Wallet does not. You might also try the Apple Wallet at a Chase, Bank of America, or Wells Fargo ATM (supposed to work per this website)

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.

I have used my Seacoast Debit Card only once, and it was at a Seacoast Bank ATM. Worked just like the Citizens used to work. I never have tried it at retail or at non-Seacoast ATM's yet.

Card works in atm, but Apple wallet doesn’t.

Weird, although Costco doesn't accept some Apple Wallet cards either, Walmart also doesn't accept Apple Wallet.

Perhaps this is a stupid question? I have an IPhone, IPad, and Mac desktop, but what the hell is an apple wallet and why would I want one?

It's a "virtual wallet" app you can use to make payments with your smartphone. Google Pay works the same way (though the exact steps to set it up might be different):

You open the app, opt to add a new payment method. You either use your camera to capture the exact image of your credit card (maybe front and back, it's been awhile since I've set mine up), OR manually input the number, expiration date, and CVV. It contacts your bank to inform it that a request for virtual wallet use has been made. The bank confirms that yeah it's a legit credit card and has the wallet's permission to use it. SOME PEOPLE have this flagged to send them a text message to verify further that the cardholder gives permission. It's all very secure and takes just a couple of minutes.

Then you save, and add any other credit, debit, or store cards you want to add.

When it's time to actually pay for something, you only need your phone and the "unlock" method - your retinal scan, facial recognition, the "pattern" or passkey, however it was when you set it up.

It opens the "wallet" and you can swipe left/right to select which method of payment you want to use that moment. And then you simply hold your phone over the payment panel at the cash register for a second until it beeps. It encrypts your credit card information, and sends an authorized *fake* number through the system so no one can steal your credit card number. The system itself knows the legit info.

You then close the app when you're finished with your transaction. The only time you have to ever take your physical card out of your purse/pocket is if your phone isn't working, or the place you're buying something doesn't accept ApplePay or "tap&pay".

I believe you can also use ApplePay for online purchases, as I can with GooglePay. Again - these are secure transactions, much more secure than typing in your credit card number on the internet if you buy anything or pay for anything that way.

No time to provide a detailed answer right now but yes, with an iPhone you want an apple wallet.

I have three credit cards stored there and simply tap my phone to pay at most places.

I also have my insurance card there, my Disney pass, my Sam’s membership card, my AAA card, and about a dozen others.

Thanks for the explanations. That’s way too phone dependent for my liking. I’ll continue to carry whatever cards I need in my wallet.

You can also store airline boarding passes, awards cards, event tickets and so on. Some states allow drivers licenses.
